This will still be a question two hundred years from now. Probably more of a question then than it is now because Trump looks even more bizarre from a distance than he seems up close. The guy isn't going to wear well, and reading the text of his interviews is like being plunged into molasses. For all his underlying vacuity, however, Trump has a charismatic effect on certain people. The literal meaning of what he says gets smoked by the impression he makes just in saying it.
