That kind of works. But 'attack' makes it sound like organized terrorism, which would be clearly misleading according to known facts. The shooter is an apparent loner and obviously needs medicated and maybe even institutionalized.

If I were one of their advisors, I would have them say something like, 'mental illness needs to better addressed in this country and hearts and prayers are with the victims and their families'.

Likely Cruz is against murder at Planned Parenthood Clinics, I feel sure of that, but he still wants the votes of those who do believe the lies he told about falsafied videos all summer, so he wont condemn the murders, he will simply express sympathy for the families.

That's kind of it: all but 99.999% of conservatives or conservative Christians abhor anti-abortion violence. Which is why it's so rare in spite of the fact there's well over a hundred million Christians in this country.
