Before you came here, we had a thing. A lot of people agreed to have a 'Clean Debate Week.'

I didn't start it, but I was all for it. Of course, I signed right on without hesitation. I didn't have to change any of my habits to participate. (Actually, every week is clean debate week for me.)

Evince also agreed to participate, (surprisingly,) and then when it actually came around, didn't even last the first morning. No way evince could last in APP.

Evince thinks being nasty is an effective way to change people's minds, thinks it is a way to 'put down lies.'

I think it runs off polite people who are offended. It actually did that to one person that I am well acquainted with. I had enjoyed exchanging posts and messages with this individual on another smaller chat board. I told him about this place and he was intrigued by the volume. I said, man, there is so much activity you can't possibly keep up. I said this is the big time, and warned him it is rough. He agreed to try it. I don't think he made it to 10 posts before Evince got a hold of him and jumped down his throat in a super-vulgar way. He told me: "No thanks," and promptly left. We still exchange emails. He said it was because of Evince.

Being nasty runs polite people off. Those could be more voices to put down lies, much more effective than fewer nasty people saying the same ugly things over and over, becoming desensitized to it, assuming everybody does it and is also desensitized to it. Everybody is not desensitized to it, and it runs them off. The evidence is the member list. Ever look at at? Just start anywhere and begin reading the stats. Most of the 'members' are not active. They showed up, made a few posts, and left.

We are left to wonder why.

Anyway, whether I did or not, thanks for reassuring me that I'm having a big impact on this forum! It's not hard, and frankly I have a hard time keeping in mind that this ugly clusterfuk is not representative of most Americans. Please say it ain't so!
Really, it's pretty bad and if not for the possibility of turning the APP section into something decent, I would be saying goodbye.

Not to suggest that I'm getting some pleasure out of the antics of the extreme right shitheads as they try to destroy any hope of turning the APP section into something worthwhile! "I Love America" has turned into a quivering piece of jelly already!
 
Trump has a billion .5 already and has not spent it on a wall. Trump is not building a wall. Never intended to. It was a story to stir up haters and it worked like a charm.

I would not be surprised. Many have come and made a few posts, then decided this place is too rough and left, never to return. Nastiness runs them off.

All that is required to make APP more active is simply start posting there and having conversations. Those who are allowed will participate if they want to. Expecting it to all change quickly is expecting too much. I would like it if APP were more popular. Good things often take time to build.
 
Mexico has already paid for the wall, like 4 times, when are the nut-bags going to start listening to what Trump says.

I wonder if anyone remembers what Trump said he’d do if Mexico wouldn’t fork over money for the wall? It was a part of his immigration plan the media never talked about, and hence, doesn’t exist to anti-Trumpers.

But that is all BS. He changed the meaning of "pay" and "Mexico." The deficit is increasing, so there is no additional money to allocate.

If Americans make more money off a better trade deal and that results in more tax revenue, that means American taxpayers are paying for the wall. If I choose not to buy Mexican avocados that provides no money for a wall. A reduction in the balance of trade does nothing to pay for a wall. That is just more of Trump's lies to get around a campaign promise nobody believed in the first place (except idiots).

At least that's what he said in that meeting with the Dems the other day that went down the tubes in a hurry
 
I will certainly help to pay for the wall as long as they build it where it's really needed. The North Shore of the Ohio river. We have got to do something to keep those fucking hillbilly's out of our State. Don't believe me? Come here to Ohio and visit the Southwest corner of the State, Portland, West Cincinnati, Hamilton, Middletown, Dayton, etc, and see what those damned hilljacks have done to our State. A Mexican Grand Army lead by Santa Anna himself couldn't possibly do as much damage.

It's also largely dependent on the staff to help it out in my opinion, and the staff are now demonstrating their attempt to destroy it. Covertly in most cases but I think I can say overtly too.

Can you tell me if there is a leftleaning staff member who could help to make it take off? I'm not finished trying to appeal to the staff yet.
