Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) are international foreign exchange reserve assets.[1] Allocated to nations by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a SDR represents a claim to foreign currencies for which it may be exchanged in times of need.[1]
Today, the US Dollar is the world's primary foreign exchange reserve asset,[2][3][4] and SDRs may be little used.[5] Some nations, notably China and Russia (as well as the UN[2]), favour increasing the substance and function of the SDR.[6][7]

If such a power arises, and if they treat currency in the same
manner that brought us to the current situation, it will not last more than a few decades before it, too, collapses; from which a new era of nationalism will arise - keeping many of the "old" borders, while redrawing many others. It is even possible the resulting chaos could usher in a new era of imperialism.

There will be no next superpower. The present superpower is not America, not China, not India, not globalisation.

The superpower is the mega-rich and totally corrupt and they are here already... and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it for they keep the only weapons of significance exclusively for their own use.
One by one they will be toppled, Mubarrack, Berlusconi, the Russians, the Americans but each time you think one has gone two more will appear. They will dictate where you live, what you eat, what you do but they will never allow you inside their own 'superpower'.
For the first time tribes, clans, nations, continents are of secondary consequence. The super powerful owe no allegiance to geography but total protective loyalty to each other.

Globalization is the ideology the megarich prefer, as it demands that all domestic governments reduce themselves to mere enforcers of multinational corporate policy, despite the impact on citizenry. It's fascist mind control, not reason, which is behind the promoters of globalization.

In a way I can see where you're coming from, but if you look deeper at your own diatribe, you see it does not make sense. The megarich take down the economic superpowers, they're taking down their own sources of wealth and power.

The mega rich have no need to take anyone down. The world itself is their source of wealth and power. The population of the world (including you and me) form part of their resource bank.
Many don't actually live in any one country, they have no need for laws, there are no restrictions imposed by anyone else on them.

LOL So, they have some nice boats. Where did they get them? Care to name a third world economy that is known for building luxury yachts? Luxury yachts come from countries with high end economies that have the resources to expend on luxuries. You are not going to see Ethiopia building high end luxuries - they are expending their resources just keeping their noses marginally above water.

What the megarich enjoy in their lifestyles come from the top economies. If our economy contracts to the point we're too busy scrambling just to eat, we're not going to be too concerned about maintaining factories that manufacture yacht parts. We're going to put our efforts in those items that allow us to survive better: food, clothing, shelter. Only after we get back on a stable economic footing will we get back into making yacht parts.

The wealth of the megarich stems from their manipulation of high volume international trade, not "the world itself". Take oil, for instance. They do not make much off the drilling or pumping of oil. Where they make their bucks is buying and selling a tanker of oil - several times - as it makes its way across the oceans to the refineries. They trade currencies, which is another component of international trade.

International trade will go down if the economies of the industrial nations go down. It is possible in their quest for ever more wealth and power they are pushing things over a cliff - but I highly doubt it is intentional on their part. The things they enjoy are produced by high end economies. If there are no high end economies left, who is going to make their next luxury yacht?

Our richest man, Li Ka Shing, doesn't have an oil well to his name, nor does he distribute the stuff. (I dont think he owns a yacht either). But he does own banking (HSBC), construction, real estate, plastics, cellular phones, satellite television, cement production, retail outlets (pharmacies and supermarkets), hotels, domestic transportation (sky train), airports, electric power, steel production, ports, and shipping.
His business plan is quite simple. It is this: people earn money and they give most of it to me. Some of course finds its way into the ever open hands of planners an facilitators. American republicans might call this the 'trickle down effect'. Like yeah!
 
How the hell could anyone believe South Africa will be the next superpower? I could see why someone might believe that 15 - 20 years ago, when South Africa was a fairly wealthy nation. But now, a quarter of them are dying from HIV/AIDS, the unemployment rate is nearing 25%, and political corruption is rampant.
