Who says walls don't work?

Problem is they weren't. Well, unless you count the murders committed by Reagan, and Bush 41.
Even that's probably not to blame as much as our stupid drug laws, which have fueled the growth of violent drug cartels and gangs.

that's a separate problem. VISA reform along with immigration reform is needed.

But still the problem of coyotes, drug smuggling and unknown illegals are solved by the wall.

You are an intelligent person. Please don't say that a partial (effective) solution should not be done
because it's a not a perfect solution to everything ("perfect is the enemy of the good")
Actually, nothing is "solved" by a wall.

this is the third time I've done this and you were too f****** stupid to follow it the first two times so I'll type it really really slow this time in the off chance that you'll be sober enough to follow it.

The way over it is to buy an extension ladder
The way through it is to buy a $65 cutting torch.
one way around it is to buy a $300 plane ticket from Mexico City to Toronto and walk across the border into the US. These sorts of border crossings are up 175%.
another way around it is to come across at a crossing point with a tourist visa and overstay the tourist visa.

you've proven yourself incapable of following a conversation and understanding what's going on but I am hopeful this time maybe you'll be more sober
Thermite is also cheap and easy to make, and can cut through iron.

You mean copy what works in every other developed country and works better than what we've got here.

Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

So, you are saying that copying what works for others may actually work, but isn't "exceptional" enough for you when you don't like somebody but is spectacular when you do. I get it. However, I believe that America can come up with exceptional solutions, including for what works "well enough for government work" in other nations. It isn't that I don't like the solution, I just think we can do better.

On this we agree. We already know that prohibition creates the violence from our experience with alcohol. But suddenly we call it a "war" and we spend trillions creating more violence than we've ever had before.

sure . no problem. some migrant from Central America pulls out $300 and gets aboard with no documentation.

Or if they have documentation then what? rent a car and drive thru at the border crossing?

Dems can only dissemble illegal entry as being as simple as walking across our border.
It's not for a variety of reasons.

Truth is.. Dems aren't really concerned with border security - so they don't want Trump's wall,
even though it would massively cut down on illegal border crossing

Let them try to cross the border in winter, many have died from frostbite trying.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/andyjs...legals-cross-border-into-canada/#92b1c1510d85n January 2017, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau responded to President Trump’s first travel ban by
tweeting:
“To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith…”

As a result, Canada’s National Post newspaper recently reported that the country will soon have more American migrant border crossers than it has Syrian refugees - a significant burden on that country's absorptive capacity.

Most of the migrants entering Canada from America are exploiting a loophole in the Safe Third Country Agreement. The Safe Third Country Agreement spells out that asylum seekers must make their claim in the country in which they first arrived.
But that only applies when claims are made at official border ports of entry.
If, however, asylum seekers reach Canadian territory by avoiding ports of entry, they become entitled to stay while their claims are processed.
That is because of Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms and because Canada is a signatory of the U.N. Refugee Convention.
In this way, claimants knowingly avoid return to the U.S. and are placing a strain on Canadian federal, provincial and municipal resources.

On average, different levels of government spend between $ 15,000 and $ 20,000 on processing each asylum claimant according to Michael MacDonald, Director General of Operations of the Citizenship and Immigration department.
Illegal border crossers are eligible to obtain work permits and also have access to Canadian healthcare, public schools and even social assistance. As for the length of time they need support,
Conservative Member of Parliament Michelle Rempel, pointed out that the “Immigration and Refugee Board is already reporting 11-year wait times for refugee hearings and is experiencing an alarming shortage of immigration judges.”
What is more, only a small percentage of unsuccessful refugee claimants are being returned to their countries of citizenship.
If it is going to take more than 10 years to get a hearing and even then only some will be returned home, for all intents and purposes, these people are permanent residents being supported by the public purse.
So Canadian taxpayers could end up paying heavily for illegal immigration over many years. Considering the potential scale of the influx, Canadians are increasingly critical of Trudeau’s position.

Many migrants from the U.S. have been arriving in Quebec.
That province has appealed for help from other provinces. While the previous Ontario provincial government agreed to take some refugee claimants from Quebec, Premier Doug Ford, the new Conservative Premier, now says that his government is no longer going to co-operate with federal authorities on the resettlement of asylum-seekers. During a 40-minute meeting recently, Trudeau tried to persuade Ford to abide by the prior commitment of the province.
Premier Ford refused. Instead he maintained that the federal government initiated the problem and should fix it. He said that provincial and municipal resources are already exhausted. Toronto Mayor John Tory added that largely due to the influx of these refugee claimants, the demand for city shelters has quadrupled compared to 2016, and the system has reached its capacity.
In an alarming way, this intergovernmental conflict in Canada is a miniature re-enactment of what is happening in Europe between EU countries over the illegal migration of refugee claimants from Africa.

This crisis has revealed that it is quicker to cross the border illegally than to immigrate to Canada legally. For overseas immigrants immigrating to Canada, the wait time can be as long as five to seven years. Crossing the border on the other hand takes five minutes. Furthermore, the refugee system is meant to protect people from “danger of torture, risk to their life, or risk of cruel and unusual treatment or punishment” if they are returned home. Few U.S. migrant claimants will fit that description since they have not been home for several years.

No use telling Katzcrap that, he's off his medication again.

katzgutz is a waste of time.

But with Canada's so weirdly pro asylum seeking law it doesn't encourage illegal entry from Canada to US as claimed.

The laws/enforcement change as leaders come and go -so we can't rely on anything long term but a wall

The problem you have is that you're a moron. Illegal entry from Canada is through the roof I already explained that but you're too f****** stupid to follow it.

I know you have difficulty following a conversation from your drug use but I already explained to you that illegal immigration from Canada is up like 170%. I already explained to you that Mexicans don't need a visa to get into Canada will you quit being so f****** stupid

There are several hundred thousand illegals crossing over from Mexico each year and a few thousand from Canada. Maybe you should put down crack pipe and shut the fuck up, Andy?
