For his own trial on assault charges. naturally, the state costumed thug gets a pass for breaking a gun control law that you or I would still be sitting in a cell awaiting felony charges and prison time.

Law enforcement officers are allowed to bring in duty weapons when making a court appearance for work-related matters.

However, under a section of the California Penal Code, Heverly was not allowed to bring his weapon into court because of the pending criminal case against him.
