Paul Whelan, 52, is a Marine turned corporate security executive who was convicted of espionage and is serving a 16-year sentence in a Russian prison.

A citizen of four countries — the United States, Canada, Britain and Ireland, Whelan was a former sheriff’s deputy and served several tours in Iraq as an active-duty reservist. He was discharged from the Marines for bad conduct in 2008 after being convicted of charges related to larceny.

What are the consequences of a bad conduct discharge? Military members who receive a bad conduct discharge are ineligible for GI Bill benefits, VA housing programs, and are unable to join any branch of the military in the future. Most of the veteran's benefits are forfeited with a bad conduct discharge. He should not be called a marine with a bad conduct discharge either?!!

What about Marc Fogel served as an international educator for 35 years. He was detained in Russia in August 2021 for possession of marijuana, prescribed by a doctor for his chronic pain.

He is still there and locked up before the POS was
