Who here supports Perry for the Republicans Nomination?

The time to support the most fiscally conservative GOP candidate is now. Far too many times I've seen primaries run an unexpected - and undesired - direction, yielding a choice between tweedle dum and tweedle dummer, with each doing their best to prove they are the latter. People need to start getting heavily involved in the primaries - that is when we have the best opportunity to get what we want instead of what the national parties foist off on us.

While there were several of their candidates I did not like, the TEA party showed that it can be done; that the People can tell the RNC (and DNC) whom they want, instead of vice-versa.

And who is that?

Anyone would think the conservatards are ashamed of their Leader.

SO an honest question is, who is more fiscally conservative, President Obama or Gov. Perry?

Not really. At this time in the last election cycle Rudy Giuliani had a lead with Fred Thompson running second, John McCain was in fourth with a piddling percentage.

It's silly to suggest he's the only option. However, if he actually were the nominee, I would most definitely vote for ABO. ABO is a good man, I've met him many times. The least of two evils is better than the one we already fully understand has been disastrous for our nation.

It should be interesting to hear you defend Perry for 4 years, should he win...

So let me get this stright, its too early to determine who will be the Republican nominee, but no matter who he is you have already decided that because he is not President Obama you belive he will be a better president. If the Republicans nominate Casey Anthony you belive she would be better than President Obama?

I doubt I would. I didn't spend a whole ton of energy defending Bush when I thought he was wrong. If it happens I would be likely full of, 'at least he is less wrong than Obama.'

Right, let's just make up stupid stuff and pretend that it is some sort of possibility. What if the republicans nominated Armand Hammer? It's not even a silly speculation...

Let me come up with an equivalent: What if the Democrats nominated a fictional character, would you vote for Harry Potter over an actual person nominated by the republicans?

I'd love to see Harry Potter become the nominee.

The hunt for his birth certificate would be a joy to behold.

I would likely vote independent in that case, unless the Republicans nominate Romney or Huntsman, but I am not dumb enough to say that I am automatically voting democratic no matter who they nominate.

The big question now is, where was Perry born and does he have a birth certificate? I havent seen it, why has he not produced his Birth Cert? Why has he not released it? Very suspicious to me. For that matter what about Romney? Where is his birth Cert?

There is no question that Governor Perry will win big and be the best President since Ronald Reagan.

Just what we need, another intellectual lightweight to make us a laughingstock.

LYNCHBURG, Va. — Texas Gov. Rick Perry offered himself here Wednesday as a decidedly anti-intellectual candidate, making light of flunking out of some of his classes at Texas A&M University, and instead casting his life and presidential aspirations in deeply spiritual terms.

Perry spoke of growing up with modest means in Paint Creek, Tex., of struggling academically in school and, in his late 20s, after he returned home from the Air Force, finding God.

As a student at Texas A&M, Perry said, it was “my heart’s content” to be a veterinarian. He worked for a vet every summer and took advanced science classes. But the dean of the veterinary school dashed his dreams.

“He said, ‘Son, I’m looking at your transcript. You want to be an animal science major,’” Perry joked. (Indeed, Perry’s transcript shows he received an “F” in organic chemistry, a “D” in veterinary anatomy and a “C” in animal breeding.”)

“Four semesters of organic chemistry made a pilot out of me,” Perry joked.
