Who here supports Federally Funded Primary Education?

Yes. Completely. If a parent or child wants an education they can pay for it. The free market would provide. There would be scholarships for needy children. I know greedy liberals wouldn't donate but us conservatives would.

Case in point Washington DC spends $19,000 per student. I could educate them and send them to school in a chauffeured limo every day for that money.

Yes!

Yea. Free market. That is why colleges have endowments. Why there are scholarships. The gobblement doesn't need to be in the business.

Can you explain why college is getting more expensive all the while the gobblement is trying to make it more affordable? Are colleges gouging students?

In a word...Y-E-S...colleges ARE gouging students.

How else are they going to pay the MILLIONS in salary they pay the football coach?

Those of you who think that the gobblement should pay for college give me some details.

Do they only pay for four years? Five years? Room and board? Books?

What about graduate school?

If not grad school why not?

What if someone decides they don't like their degree? Can they go back for another?

You live in an incredible lala land if you believe every needy student would get a scholarship.

Really? Harvard is paying millions to their football coach? Who the fuck knew?

So do you support price controls on all colleges?

I propose that no college can charge more than $4000 a year. How bout that puddin?

College is expensive, is that the rushturd new neocon excuse for not going!
Not hat these faux news fan boys could get in anywhere.

When children and teachers were allowed to pray gasoline was 30 cents a gallon. Are you hoping for that as well?

So, people pray in their homes, on the street, in the churches on a daily basis and the world is in a dowward spiral because children aren't being lead in prayer at school? Lol, the logic is astounding.

I concede nothing. Are you honestly going to try and argue that there have not been more poor and middle class students graduating since gov't loans and grants became available? Really??

I just stop and wonder what the USA would be like without the GI bill after WWII.

That is only true if they pay millions for a losing football coach. Some universities pay their football coach millions and get a return of money into their general fund and have more and more out-of-state students applying.

Prove your point with statistics. Since you think it is ubiquitous, prove it.

You should also prove that it would have been any different if the gobblement hadn't gotten involved. I know you can't prove it. Not a really fair question. But, the fact remains that it has gotten more expensive since the gobblement has gotten involved.

Sure, gobblement programs always look good in the beginning. Being Santa Claus has its perks. But, the sun has set on gobblement college funding. It is now more expensive and almost worthless. You can ignore the facts, but that doesn't change them. You have been brainwashed to believe that the only way to get ahead in life is a college education. That makes you subservient to the gobblement.

I did not address whether the degree is more valuable. Nor did I address whether the education is more expensive. What I did address was obviously accurate.

only the smallest portion of the money spent on educating our children comes from the federal government....'

in exchange how much does complying with federal regulations and paperwork requirements cost our schools every year....

and how much of the federal DoE budget never leaves Washington.......

I do, I am just wondering if there is anyone here who does not and is willing to admit it, or defend such a position.

1/3 federal funding for preschool through bachelor degree (and maybe advanced degrees) including physical plant (funded 100% by the feds), 1/3 by the state and 1/3 by local school district with minimum federal standards.
