Who here supports Federally Funded Primary Education?

I respectfully disagree. Profession is a tenet of Faith.

Profession to whom?

God can hear you even when you speak only to yourself and make no audible sound.

One of the problems I have with many Christians today is their need to be seen while praying, as if being viewed by a large number of unbelievers while praying might add some credibility to one's prayer.

Many Christian children have been persecuted for voicing their devotion to their God and Savior.

Many Christians have been persecuted for their faith since the time of Christ...a little playground teasing is hardly what I would consider "persecution".

I do not think the Government should be funding education at all. Let TurboLib parents pay for their own schools.

But then we wind up with children from one state unable to compete with children from another for a job due to deficiencies in one state's educational system.

You'd be hamstringing every child from certain states while giving other kids a big advantage when entering the workforce.

I do not think any Government should interfere with or usurp the parent's right and duty to instruct their own children.

If you want to know why being allowed to profess your faith openly is important, read the New Testament.

If that is true then why would you let the States determine their own educational curriculum? Wouldn't that usurp the parent's right and duty?

I'd like to hear it from you...how is my praying silently to myself not as acceptable to God as someone loudly professing his faith?

Yes....that's a guaranteed way to keep ignorance and poverty alive and well....ignorant, uneducated parents teaching their kids as only they can do...why should their kids have people with degrees and teaching certificates when they could be taught by the drop outs that love them so.

You don't have a college degree and you are very happy with how you turned out. Why can't others. Given what you do for a living, would a college education have been a worthwhile investment? I would say not.

I support federally funded primary reeducation for anyone that voted for Bush and claims to want decentralization/privatization of schools.

Making college "free" will only exacerbate the unemployment rate for college grads and make it less valuable.

http://www.theatlantic.com/business...rads-are-jobless-or-underemployed-how/256237/

53% of college grads are unemployed or underemployed

There is a 38% increase of college grads from 2000. Law of supply and demand anyone? Too much supply, not enough demand. So hell, lets increase the supply. That should help

Let's assume for purposes of argument that we should keep the supply of college degrees constant. On what basis do we select the lucky few that get them?

I never said States should control education either. Parents are solely responsible for the training of their child. If they want to form groups and start their own schools they should be able to with no hassle.

I didn't say it was a matter of being loud. Read the New Testament if you want answers.

The Wingnuts are funny, many don't support public education, yet they do support prayer in public schools.

If we don't have public schools, how are you going to force people to pray to your god?

I reject your premise. I don't believe in artificially manipulating any marke, whether it is healthcare, education, housing or food.

The free market can determine the number of college degrees necessary.

Look at the facts. Since the government has gotten involved in college education it has only gotten more expensive and kids are not reaping the benefits.

It is just another democrat money laundering scheme.

If college were any other industry you lefties would be screaming for price controls.

So ability to pay? That looks to be your response.

Since the gov't has gotten involved in college education we have seen a huge increased in the number of graduates from lower socio-economic levels. In fact, during this time there have likely been more poor kids get quality educations and become wealthy than at any other time in history.

Show me the numbers. Cite.

Thank you for conceding my point.

I do, I am just wondering if there is anyone here who does not and is willing to admit it, or defend such a position.
I am against the Libs trying to dumb down our childrens even moore than they already are. I like vouchers where the parents can change schools if they don't want a Lib teachers trying to teach their kids how to be good little Socialists. I should get a lot of "Thanks" for this one because I spoke the truth. PS, I hope USFreedom911 comes back online, I enjoyed reading his stuff, that is if his banishment was just short term, so he is now "eligible" to start posting again. Don't give up Free, keep on pushing.
