Who gets into heaven

Winter born is cool. He is just a very unusual atheist who seems to believe in something like souls and an afterlife.

I would say at least 95 percent of atheists believe all existence, thought, and consciousness ends at death, and all that's left is decomposing atomic matter.
Here’s an interesting youtube session on consciousness I ran across recently. Francis Crick Institute. They have a great series of panels discussions. Three well credentialed scientists, all experts in the study of consciousness.

Odd that not once in the entire session does anyone mention anything about consciousness being external to the brain. Perhaps you could contact them and provide some insight on where they’re wrong.

I never said consciousness was outside the brain, your passive aggressive snark aside.
IMO, it's more probable than not that our moral conscience, our imagination, our deepest and most profound love are something beyond physics and chemistry.

There are no legitimate scientists who believe we have a scientific explanation for consciousness.

Neuroscientist loses a 25-year bet on consciousness — to a philosopher

Will we ever unravel the mystery of consciousness? Two academics made a 25-year bet on it. The scientist lost.

Christof Koch wagered David Chalmers 25 years ago that researchers would learn how the brain achieves consciousness by now. But the quest continues.

What was the nature of the bet? Neuroscientist Christof Koch and philosopher David Chalmers bet 25 years ago on whether science would have an explanation for consciousness by now. Tests of the two leading theories of consciousness revealed that both are incomplete.

Chalmers’ “easy” problem of identifying neural correlates of consciousness proved more complex than expected, with crucial aspects like self-awareness overlooked in studies.

The “hard” problem of how brain processes create subjective conscious experience remains unsolved — and will remain that way for a very long time.

Fuck man, all along you’ve talked about consciousness after death. You questioned if love and other emotions were nothing more than brain chemistry. On and on, you’ve claimed that there was more to consciousness than mere “quarks” and other bullshit.

You’re a fucking fraud.

Angry? I don't know what happens after death.

If discussing this topic makes you engaged, you should take a break.

There is no explanation for consciousness at the level of physics and chemistry. That doesn't mean it's happening outside the brain.

No need to change my post to suit your needs, you fucking fraud. Your ongoing bullshit about after death consciousness and outside-the-brain human emotions speak for themselves.

Watch the fucking session, fraud, then contact them with your theory of consciousness sans chemistry and physics. I’m sure they’ll give it all the consideration it deserves.

Highlighting your anger isn't changing your post.

Link me to any post I ever made specifically claiming I know what happens after death.

Failure to provide such a link will be taken as an admission your unhinged rage:cuss: is misplaced, and your insinuations are without merit.

I'll wait.

Discussing the various possibilities people have put out there does not mean I claim to know the truth. I just haven't ruled anything out.

We’re done, fraud. I’ve seen enough of your babbling bullshit on this subject.

So you couldn't find a link to support your insinuation about me. That means it doesn't exist, and you got yourself all worked up into a mean girl rage without justification or merit.

So you believe we came from nothing and will become nothing when we die? No afterlife. No explanation of the origin of the Big Bang or Multiverses?

No life has been found in the Universe except on Earth. Not a hint of life elsewhere despite over half a century of spaceflight and research such as SETI. By your logic, we're it. There is no other life in the Universe because "I see no evidence to even really hint at their existence."

I see your point. But the fact that we have found no other life is not any sort of proof of anything except we have severely limited search distances.

It's the same logic as believing "when you're dead, you're dead". As this and other threads have discussed, human beings have a physical, mental and spiritual nature. Only pure atheists seem to be blind to the spiritual part of human nature like some people are color-blind or gay. Weird.

70 years is nothing. it took billions of years to get where we are.

How are we doing on the "prove god exists" thing?
Homo sapiens sapiens have been around for about 100,000 years yet we went from horses to the Moon in less than 100 years. Weird.

We can't prove anything exists beyond the mortal....yet. Maybe through quantum physics? Interdimensional travel?

All militant atheists are angry. They are very similar to the MRKs. It's weird.

Agreed on the elusive nature of consciousness. If we understood it, we'd be able to determine if other species have it or not.

That sudden burst of rage and cursing came out of nowhere!

I think some of the higher sentient animals, like dolphins or elephants, might share to some small degree the Qi or life force humans have that animates our moral conscience, imagination, rationality.

He has anger issues like Diesel. I have both on ignore. Your little retarded stalker friend isn't since I can't keep barfing on his posts if he's on ignore. LOL

No doubt there's a sliding scale of consciousness, but it appears that, if there was any other species on the level of even retarded cracker humans, they've been killed off over tens of thousands of years. Sadly, there's no evidence of their existence past or present.

Can one not be spiritual and not believe in a God?

Quantum physics is a demonstrable phenomenon. Interdimensional travel a theoretical possibility, and the existence of a soul merely faith.

We are almost no closer to recreating cellular biology from inanimate chemistry under natural conditions than we were 70 years ago.

Many scientists are pessimistic we will ever be able to replicate it or explain it.

The problem is amino acids are relatively simple. They are found throughout the universe. The DNA molecule is an information-bearing system, essentially akin to digital information consisting of 3.5 billion bits of precisely ordered data.

There is nothing like that in inanimate chemistry. There is no chemical analogy outside of cellular biology.

Another problem is of a chicken and egg variety. Pointing to amino acids really explains nothing. Proteins are built via DNA. So you'd have to have DNA or RNA somehow previously existing before you could build proteins out of amino acids.

We also have descriptions for the molecular machinery of the cell. But we have no adequate explanation for why and how these machine-like purposeful cellular mechanisms originated.
How are we doing on the "prove god exists" thing?
Not a scientific question. A question of logic and philosophy.
You would be amazed at how many questions are philosophical and how little science actually explains about your life.
