I always find it interesting how many on the right have a shallow understanding on oil, forget the economics involved, I found it was inane even attempting to explain it to most, the reality, simple fact, is that oil companies are not national, they serve a global community, even today, when some as we see here are talking about tapping the reserves, the US, companies with US addresses, is the third largest oil exporter in the world

The REvolution has decided to drain it down to about nothing.

My theory is that China is already running the place.

Controlled Implosion.

terrible idea. already did it once as it is.

reverse policy and rebuild production is the only sensible answer.

yes that will take some time but the world is clearly not prepared to do without.

and please note China is coming off lockdown and demand will be rising soon.

What the Save the Planet types think can be done by 2030 will take at least until 2050 to do, and that is with a lot of good luck.

THey have no fucking clue how hard building is because all they have ever done is tear down, destroy.

its a strategic reserve and releasing 675k barrels a day does nothing on price or supplies

Desperate attempt by Brandon to correct yet another of his disastrous policies. The midterms won’t be enough. We just have to ride this out until 2024

I don't have enough information to leap to an informed judgement.
we have used some of this reserve successfully in the past with SHORT TERM disruptions in supply.
trouble is that this is NOT a short term disruption.
we snuck by for a bit because China was using less due to China Cootie shutdowns but those are easing which will only increase the supply shortage.

I would think release it because it would help bring gas prices down. Am I wrong?

Gas prices are so high mostly because we dont have enough refinery capacity. This does not help but they can sell it to idiot Americas "Look, we are doing something".

But mostly our government does not want us to have a oil reserve, for whatever reason.

look at that beautiful blue up swing to the curve under Trump!

Your graph shows the upward trend in domestic Oil production started at an inflection point in 2011 and rapidly increased from there. Trump wasn't president until 2017.
