Suit claims East St. Louis passed up white police chief over race

EAST ST. LOUIS — City officials seeking a new police chief passed up the former
director of the Florida Highway Patrol, who formerly was a top commander of the
Illinois State Police, because he is white, two former members of a city board
claim.

Wyatt Frazer and Della Murphy allege in a federal lawsuit that they were forced
off the Police, Fire and Civil Service Board for their advocacy of a white
candidate when the chief's job was open in 2007.

Yeah it is racist.

These are allegations. Not proof. Just whiny white people who think they are entitled to every position on the planet because of their skin color.

If they were the most qualified for the job, and if former members of the city board are bringing these allegations, its pretty damning evidence.

When was the last time they had a non-white chief? Proof enough. Never mind the population to choose from.

this is the stupidest thing i've heard today....

they did do for themselves, accordign to the article, they were more qualified, but were passed up to less qualified people based solely on race....

what would have them do, get a dark tan :pke:

At this point it has only been alleged. You know, like it has only been reported that Obama got a scholarship.
