My father’s foreman was black and my father trained him. My father had three kids two engineers and one doctor plus he sent my mother to college for a degree in education. My dad’s boss had four kids two live on welfare one of them he other is in prison the other has been in prison . None of my dad’s boss’ kid ever tried to go to college .

In my opinion education is what makes the biggest difference. A family that pushes education trumps any kind of privilege.

Education with a work ethic. If the kids see the parents working hard at stuff, whether it be in the home or a job they go to, and particularly if the kids are encouraged to help when they can, that goes a long way to getting ahead.

I would say in the 70s after all the reforms were implemented. There will always be racists ofc, but the idea that the American govt is systematically racist, and uses that to hurt minorities in 2020, is a complete MYTH.

You can wait for as long as you want. Systemic means how things are conducted IN the system - not actual laws. Laws should apply to everyone equally. In practice, they do not.
