Adding a box on the census form could have implications beyond racial identity. According to the White House notice, the new data could be used for a wide range of political and policy purposes, including:

• Enforcing the Voting Rights Act and drawing congressional and state legislative district boundaries;

• Establishing federal affirmative action plans and evaluating claims of employment discrimination in employment in the private sector;

• Monitoring discrimination in housing, mortgage lending and credit;

• Enforcing school desegregation policies; and

• Helping minority-owned small businesses get federal grants and loans. [from OP link]

For someone who frequents a political forum you're a little slow on the uptake.

So we'll go slow. Ok, this came from the WH, so Obama either initiates it or checks off on it. Note first that the WH let it slip that it [the novel and new racial designation] could be used 'for political purposes'.

I would contend it's wholly intended for political purposes lol. It's right there in front of your eyes: affirmative action plans for the new race, whatever it's called, I forget. Talk about a vote getter lol. That should lock in some future democrat voters.

Then there's the special loans for minority businesses that struggle from oppression from the seemingly omnipresent white oppressors.

See, it's all about getting votes. That wasn't so hard was it?
