This is not a hard question.

The owners of the team choose the name in the beginning.

And the owners of the team chose to change the name.


The government is trying to get involved under Trump and Magats are trying to use pressure to force other than the owners to decide now.

I really do wish people would stop twisting the meanings behind the mascots and logos which were never meant to offend, though...
Redskins and Indians are proud team names...no one is running up to anyone who is Native American and bashing them with an utterance or t-shirt with a logo...
Or tomahawk chopping at them...
No one is offended by a logo unless someone is trying to convince them that they should be...talk about getting involved where you don't belong...

I KNOW you would not be getting the full story. But Trump has been pressuring many teams and using the THREAT of gov't denials to try and FORCE them to change their names.

Trump is pushing what would be looked at as a government agency to pick names for businesses or at least a government sign off, to ensure the government likes the names.

That is what old school conservatives would rail against as they did not believe in big government getting in to private business or people's homes and bedrooms. All things Magats now cheer on.

Trump tells sports teams to change their names back: ‘GET IT DONE!!!’​

Trump threatens to restrict stadium deal with Washington Commanders if they don’t change name back to ‘Redskins’​

If you were not so hopelessly stupid you would see he is offering a threat, backed with government force.

Conservatives, prior to the magat turnover, did not want big government getting involved in business at this level or in the homes.

You clap like a seal when Trump does it and and find ways to justify as good.

Meanwhile if a Dem Potus makes any statement that citizens should move towards more efficient appliances, etc the same magats scream and cry and how intrusive that it and that gov't needs to stay out of those discussions. The opposite of applauding them for "getting your attention" and getting done "what he hoped to accoplish"

I never stopped listening. I am not a magat like you who only listens to one side of issues.

I would be glad if you listened more as you admitted up thread you did not even know Trump was using gov't to threaten to try and get the name changed.

What you want is as irrelevant as what i want when it comes to what a company should name its products. They can listen to our desires but in the end the choice is theirs and the way magats like you cry when those choices are made is just delicious to the rest of us.
