White House: "Even Hitler didn't gas his own people."

Come on sailor, certainly you can't really seriously be trying to wordsmith this into something other than Hitler sending German citizens into the gas chambers. Stripping them of their citizenship doesn't change what he did.

No. This is from post # 12. "Today is not then. I am not being a bonehead here, just stating historical fact. They were stripped of their German citizenship. During that time (at least according to the Nazi's) they were stateless people. As much as I think it was a stupid statement by the Trump administration, legally and technically it is correct. "

Legally?

This has nothing to do with legality. Or him being technically correct on a irrelevant point. He shamelessly made a ridiculous and idiotic comparison to somehow pump up the reason for attacking Assad.

It was legal according the state of Germany at the time. Their government passed the laws. Once again, I do not agree with any of this. Just pointing out history.

dodging my question. would they consider themselves "hitlers people?"

I don't, I suspect they considered themselves Hitlers people as much as those gassed by Assad considers themselves ASssad's people.

I'm an Americans but I absolutely do not consider myself one of Rump's people.

But who cares what was legal according to the state of Germany? If they declared it legal to gas innocent people to death does that change the fact they were gassing innocent people to death?

so it was immediately clarified -why do you start these picayune threads?
Who gives a fuck that he "clarified" what was a ridiculous and idiotic comparison from the get go.

He was an idiot to make any such comparison. German was the first country to produce Sarin but the war was already coming to an end before they could manufacturer it in large quantites, so who gives a fuck what Hitler didn't do with it, especially since he was using other poisonous gases to kill his own civilians/people in mass.

it was to show it wasn't used on the battlefield -that was a valid point.
It was extraneous -but valid

He has yet to admit a mistake.
well that is a valid point, but admitting mistakes doesn't generate any good will or do anything at all for a press sec.
Obama's press sec used to do the "I refer you to's" much more oblique nothingness.

I'll take an overstatement in comparison to obfuscation -at least the press conference are designed to infom

Funny - whenever anyone brings up Hitler on this board, the righties usually trot out that tired old meme that the 1st person to bring up Hitler is losing the argument...

Bit of play on words here. Nazi's certainly did not think of Jews and others they sent to concentration camps in Germany as citizens.
I don't believe Assad thinks of those who oppose him as citizens either. Does that mean they aren't?
