White-hating racists get Stormfront booted off the internet ! FIRST AMENMENT IS DEAD

I watch zero college sports. Do they discuss it like "It's a serious problem and we have to fix it"? I mean, look at people like Joe Paterno who let something far more egregious continue because he put the school's reputation first. These people are all about the money.

When I say "something bigger" it means that all kids are individuals and should be given the chance to prove themselves, not shut out because of statistics.

wouldnt this be an argument against affirmative action? kids and individuals have a chance to prove themselves worthy of whatever college they shoot for based on their actions in the past. They should not be shut out by color of skin?

You must be joking. Lots of people get loaded down with debt no matter their color.

You have your liberal racist blinders on.

If a kid starts off 220 points below the very lowest acceptable college SAT score, they are starting off at a total disadvantage ... and are more likely not to get the degree ... just the debt. :palm:

.

It's insane. College football is an "amateur" sport so we don't pay the kids who actually perform. But the coaches are paid 5 mill a year!!!

Not all white women could. Are you insane?

Truth be told .. your argument is kinda' nasty.

How about I just step away from this and talk to someone else before it gets ugly?

Re-reading your comment here either we are talking past each other, i'm not stating my position clearly or you are projecting an attitude into my statement that I don't hold.

The opportunity for women to do a lot of things say in 1970 vs today is very different and for the better. Programs that were needed in 1970 aren't necessarily needed today. Women outnumber men by millions in college today. In California where Prop 209 banned race and gender as benefit in admissions women outnumber men at the two top schools, Cal and UCLA.

So based on these results I don't believe women need an additional advantage in their admissions. They've shown they can compete quite well on their own.

If that is nasty or ugly I'm open to hearing your opinion why.

lol

Thanks for proving my claim. Brush up on the 1st, idiot, then come back for more schooling.

i said ARTICLE 5,THAT IS ARTICLE NOT AMENDMENT,you are truly a little slow, the moronic motor mouth here again ,is you hull.
my point is we are a republic not a democracy, you want to change the 1st amd. see article 5.

My position is the same position of Kamala Harris. Prop 209 has been disaster for Black and Hispanic students without question. The evidence of that disaster is right in the statistics that you quote. I've already demonstrated to you that black students are often dependent on HBCU's for higher education .. many of whom go on to great careers and professions. It was never an issue of intelligence, rather an issue of access and admission.

As I've said to you several times, AA is far more than just about college admissions .. and unless you are completely blind to it, gender bias still very much exists in hiring and recruiting .. especially in science, technology, engineering, and math careers. AA has made significant impact on demanding equality in these fields, although all in not fair yet.

You've also ignored the truth of legacy admissions, i.e.; affirmative action for white students.

Legacies Still Get A Staggeringly Unfair College Admissions Advantage

Again, I do not suggest that you have to care about Black and Hispanic students, nor the fate of women in the work place. It's more than a little disappointing, but you don't have to care.

I do care, and therein lies our disagreement on AA and everything about Prop 209.

I've been speaking specifically about AA as it applies to Universities. I do care about black and hispanic students getting into Universities and I think it ultimately starts at levels well before Jr and Sr year of high school. I posted the info that showed the same number of black and hispanic students received degrees in the years following Prop 209 that there were in the years prior before its implementation even though there were far less students.

I had about six friends/classmates my from class go to Morehouse. All very smart guys who could have had their choice of PWI if they so desired. This was 1991 when A Different World was big and I remember them talking they wanted that experience. As far as I know they all loved it.

I've said before I volunteer taught at a lower income largely Hispanic school in the Bay Area. I did it because I wanted to help kids with real life experiences and examples that maybe they weren't getting at home or taught in school, and to teach them mistakes I made financially. I didn't do it because I dislike kids of color. I want to see more kids go to college if they so desire. Not thinking AA is the best way doesn't mean the desire is any less.

"I do care about black and hispanic students getting into Universities"

My point exactly.

Why?

You said everything that need be said.

You don't care about Black and Hispanic students getting into universities. You don't care about AA or how it benefits anyone if it doesn't benefit you.

Not sure what you're missing.

you just quoted me as saying I care to prove i don't. Again, I'm not following that.
