I would say that the biggest long term threat to American Citizens is the Greens.

The millions of tones of toxic Lithium batteries, which we can currently only process 10K per year, though we are making 1M a year...

Those batteries will inherently swell, split their cases and begin seeping Lithium Hydrocarbons. These toxins will eventually get into the ground water, and they cause massive birth defects, fatal cancers, and most damning of all, they cause lowered IQ and violent outbursts.

Additionally, they are so set on the stupid technologies of Solar Voltaic, and Wind turbines, that they will prevent the development of Thorium Ion Reactors, and He3 Fusion, with nearby synthetic Hydrocarbon Plants using Atmospheric CO2 to create methane, and from that, Diesel, Gasoline, Lube Oils, and plastic feed stocks.

We don't have 40 years of Fossil Fuels left, and building the replacement Thorium Ion Power Plants and Synthetic Hydrocarbon plants, will require massive amounts of Steel, Concrete, Copper, Plastic, Rubber, and Control ICs. If we wait another 20 years, it will be too late, the fossil fuel infrastructure will be gone, and we won't be able to build the follow on tech.

So, the threats the Greens are making, to execute those who resist their dogma, will cause an eventual mass extinction event.
