No one says you have to like Oliver North, or agree with him, but when all a person can do is act the jackal and dismiss a mans position in such a baseless way as you have? Well, it's easy to see who should be dismissed.

I know they are not idiots, they are human beings willing to sacrifice all for their country. The one person who holds their lives in his hands has a role to communicate to them that he understands his power. Simple really.

Again, it's not about secret, its about motivation. To take the time to speak to those whose lives you are commiting to harms way is worthy of a personal address. Bush made it a point to do so, Obama ought to as well.
 
Ice Dancer, I think you misunderstand the reason for the liberals outcry when our troops were deployed under the Bush administration.

I don't recall the liberals being angry that Bush didn't kiss them all goodbye. They were angry because he was sending them to Iraq for no good reason.

Whether Obama kissed them goodbye or not is not really much of an issue. (although some people will try and make it an issue) The issue is whether or not the lives of our sons and daughters are being risked for good reason.

For some, there is no good reason to go to war except when you are invaded. But for most people Afganistan has made sense, whereas Iraq was a mistake.

No, I don't misunderstand anything. You must have forgotten how many "liberals" cried foul even over deployments to Afghanistan. Afghantistan simply became a whipping boy to beat up Bush with when Iraq began. Now its the "good war" worth fighting.

Iraq is now considered a success. Does this mitigate debate over whether or not we should have gone there? No, but using Iraq as some sort of defense for Obama's seeming lack of compassion and care for our troops is disengenuous. To commit troops to harms way is to commit them to harms way. No matter the war or its popularity, credibility, support, or success.

Obama sent them out into harms way.

I have read many of your posts and you certainly have a way of never doing more than pissing except of course when your moaning, which being an adept jackal, what can one expect?

People like you, who have so much to offer, always manage to find themselves right smack in the middle of threads where they can higlight how stupid others are. Such a visible showcase of your talent to be an astute ass of the highest order leaves us all in amazement...no really :)
