Why can't McDonald's do this here? Just raise the menu price's?!!

Hire only the youngest, do away with as many positions as possible. Obama & Co., are on the right road.

I'll pay $35 an hour to experienced folks to flip burgers when positions become available. Problem is, no experience is necessary, burger flippers starting out make $8 an hour. Fired when they hit $9.50 an hour, unless moved up to management trainee. Meanwhile, 96 the cashiers.

LOL

did they even read the tiny article?

So how does McDonald's survive in such high-wage environments? Much like in the U.S., it plays the game. In Australia, minimum wage for 16-year-old workers is only $8, which gives McDonald's incentive to higher younger workers. It also squeezes more productivity out of workers and does away with little redundancies like cashiers, who are replaced in certain instances by touchscreens.

These liberals don't understand the fast food business model. McD's caters to very low end food consumers who place the most importance on low price. They can not simply raise their prices or they will lose their business to better food makers who offer a better value and finer food for the price McD's would have to charge. It would mean McD's would have to upgrade their menu to make the food worth the asking price. So they would have increase even more to achieve the goal.

It is clear that the low info voters have a minute grasp of the problem.

Nor even the more 'prestigious' education examples. Not the police and fire. Many more, I'm quite certain.

Truth is these 'liberals' haven't a clue to the real world in 2000. In 2013, they are way over their heads.

We saw that part. So it increased employment among the young (who desperately need it); but for those who were older it provided jobs that paid decently. And did you notice how they adapted their menu to accommodate it, to increase demand?

Businesses can adapt to a higher wage.

I guess you completely ignored the "eliminated redundancies by increasing automation". Allow me to explain so the low information voters on the left can understand.

They use fewer workers so their overall labor costs remain the same.

God it is maddening dealing with stupid people with ZERO common sense

What you have with these liberals is confirmation bias. They find what they want to find in everything.

They believe the paper model is the same as reality
