I normally like to keep my articles about my opinions on the topic of the day instead of reporting the facts themselves. I find I contribute more to the general pool of ideas this way since many other news outlets collate the actual data.

I take a break from that today because of some special circumstances. An event I find so disturbing that I have to report on it. The fact that no major news outlets but fox is covering it just increases its gravity.

In one short sentence the CIA has refused to give the permanent house select Committee on intelligence a briefing on the evidence they have concerning the Russians being behind the leak.

First off let me present the facts. As everyone knows over the weekend the Washington Post broke a story alleging that "unnamed sources" within the CIA have pinpointed that the Russians were behind a series of cyber attacks on the DNC and did so to benefit Trump. Further broken stories allege from "unnamed sources" once again that Putin had first hand knowledge of these attacks.

The House Committee on Intelligence requested a briefing on Monday December 12 so that it could have the same information the Post did. The briefing was supposed to have been scheduled on Friday to give time to the CIA to prepare its Representative The House Committee on Intelligence is the civilian institution meant to have oversight over the CIA and various other intelligence agencies. All of its members have the required clearances for the briefings and previous briefings were done on various subjects in the past.

Here is a link to the statement of Congressman Nunez the chairman of the Committee. link. The CIA has refused to give the House Committee on Intelligence a briefing. They did not postpone, reschedule, or anything else. They told the civilian entity charged with their oversight that they would in fact not be answering to it.

Like the title says. WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? The left has been insinuating that Trump's cabinet looks like a junta with all the generals and that the civilian oversight over the military is a paramount with its resistance to General Mattis. Yet here is a situation where the CIA has essentially gone rogue and is refusing to answer to the civilian government and the left cheers them on.

Everyone must be made aware of this so the CIA is pressured to give the Committee on intelligence the briefing it deserves. We cannot have an agency who decides that newspapers are more worthy of receiving information over the very people supposed to oversee it.

Spin move. Smoke and mirrors. Everyone knows WHO was involved and WHY it was done. Going to be a very long 4 years now. Definitely "one and done".

cia says we have a secret report that we cant give to the committee that oversees us. We can only give it to WAPO.

which leave us back to the last ACTUAL EVENT - the Nov 17th briefing by Clapper (open testimony) where none of this is clear.
.....
and now back to FAKE NEWS..on your fave lame stream TV channel,,stay tuned and uninformed

he House Intelligence Committee abruptly canceled a briefing set for Thursday on alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election, after the CIA declined to provide a briefer for the session, Fox News is told.

Amid concerns about reports that conflict with details previously provided to the committee, Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., had requested a closed, classified briefing Thursday for committee Republican and Democratic members from the FBI, CIA, Office of the Director of National Intelligence and National Security Agency.

But Fox News is told the CIA declined citing its focus on the full review requested by President Obama, and the other agencies did not respond to the committee’s request, which is unusual given the panel is the most-senior committee with jurisdiction.

"It is unacceptable that the Intelligence Community directors would not fulfill the House Intelligence Committee’s request to be briefed tomorrow on the cyber-attacks that occurred during the presidential campaign," Nunes said in a statement. "The Committee is deeply concerned that intransigence in sharing intelligence with Congress can enable the manipulation of intelligence for political purposes."

Nunes also had given the agencies until Friday to address conflicts in the record.

In response to Fox News' initial report, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), which oversees all 17 U.S. intelligence agencies, issued a statement claiming that lawmakers from both parties have received "extensive, detailed classified and unclassified briefings ... since last summer and have continued to do so after Election Day."

"Last week, the President ordered a full Intelligence Community review of foreign efforts to influence recent Presidential elections – from 2008 to present," the statement added. "Once the review is complete in the coming weeks, the Intelligence Community stands ready to brief Congress—and will make those findings available to the public consistent with protecting intelligence sources and methods. We will not offer any comment until the review is complete."

A Washington Post report Friday, citing anonymous sources, said the CIA determined Russia interfered in the election with the purpose of helping Trump’s campaign. But, as Nunes first noted in a letter Monday, DNI James Clapper told their committee on Nov. 17 that the intelligence community lacked strong evidence connecting Russia to the WikiLeaks disclosures.

Nunes wrote, “According to new press reports, this is no longer the CIA’s position … I was dismayed that we did not learn earlier, from you directly about the reported conflicting assessments and the CIA’s reported revision of information previously conveyed to this Committee.”

Separately, Fox News has learned additional details about the “full review” President Obama ordered from his intelligence agencies regarding Russian interference.

The review is being led by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and is a multi-agency effort. Investigators plan to take existing intelligence and reconstruct what happened.

Fox News is told one focus is on whether there is new intelligence that substantiates analysis the interference was designed to ensure a Trump victory, or whether a review of the existing intelligence with “fresh eyes” leads to new conclusions.

Some lawmakers, on both sides of the aisle, have backed calls for a separate congressional investigation, voicing concern that Obama’s intelligence agencies might not be able to conduct a thorough review before he leaves office.

The White House has backed calls for a congressional review as well, while joining Democrats in reviving criticism of the Trump campaign’s alleged Russia connections.

Given statements from the White House, Fox News is told there is considerable pressure on the intelligence community to declassify as much of the findings as possible before Jan. 20, when Trump is set to take the oath of office.

That Mr. "Anonymous" really gets around...no? He knows everything....from the women that were attacked and humiliated by Trump to the tax returns of THE DONALD.

There indeed are more than a few conservatives that don't believe a damn word Mr. Anonymous has to say. Most believe that Mr. Anonymous places politics above his/her sworn duty to keep private the information they are privy to in an occupation paid for and funded by the peoples tax dollars....i.e., Goberment workers.

They believe Mr. Anonymous makes a lot of shit up out of thin air.....workers that man tax payers jobs such as university staff positions, court employees, prosecutors, irs agents, and other state employees, not to mention the staff themselves of major media outlets....as Mr. Anonymous always comes forth with critical evidence at just the right time to benefit some liberal cause of the day.

The majority of Conservatives believe that if you are giving democrats a rough time in exposing certain truths to the public then you are under attack through anonymous revelations of supposed private and sealed government records....such as classified information suddenly becoming common public knowledge.

Most conservatives believe this latest Anonymous attack was a fishing expedition to see if the CIA had any real information that might be CLASSIFIED and not attainable to any media outlets. Why? How else are the 500 + Electoral College voters supposed to get vetted in order to be briefed to even look upon classified "your eyes only" national security information?

Did Mr. Anonymous really expect that the CIA would say TO HELL with our sworn oaths, rules, regulations and LAWS...we will march right out and give into the political demands of the DNC to somehow give this information directly to the members of EC....as everyone knows that the DNC always places the nation before politics.

Heads will roll after January 20, believe me...

Most of them will probably be liberals, who are committing Seppuku or Jigai; except it will be without honor.

I am outraged.

I've thought the CIA completely rogue, self-serving and corrupt for years.

What do we NEED a CIA for anyway? They haven't done anything useful for the majority of the American people or our Nation in decades... and they're damned expensive!

Remove 100% of their funding.

Pull all of their authority.

Layoff all of their employees.

Make sure that no one in leadership positions in the current CIA is allow to have any job inside the U.S. Government again.

After a few fallow years, very carefully, with lots of checks and balances and manditory oversight, restart a NEW CIA with vastly less funding.
