If climate panty wetters like
@Nomad actually believed that there is a “climate crisis,” wouldn't they forgo using anything requiring the burning of "fossil fuels" (a misnomer) in their daily lives?
They conveniently forget that. They don't do their homework. Only those that disagree with their religion are 'destroying the planet'.
This would include electricity, running water, indoor plumbing, WiFi and almost all forms of transportation.
They gotta have their electricity for their EVs, their computers, heating their homes and water, and of course microwaving their frozen dinners.
It also would mean growing your own food through regenerative farming,
Wups. That generates carbon dioxide too. It also generate methane. It means running tractors, horses, or oxen. They are also city kids, that know nothing about farming.
I'd just like to see one try to butcher a chicken!
not eating out and not buying food at the grocery store or local farm market.
Oh, they think buying at the 'local farm market' is actually buying from farmers! Nah. These 'farmer markets' are just trinket and used goods sales with a fancy name.
Recycling, driving a Tesla (or some other EV) and using batteries aren’t going to cut the mustard.
It actually wastes energy. EVs use almost twice the energy then a gasoline car of similar size.
The energy waste comes in the form of generating it (which generally requires fuel), the waste heat from that and in the generator wiring, all the transformers and wiring that create waste heat, and finally the charging cycle itself which heats the battery (waste heat), and the discharge cycle which heats the battery (waste heat). This is why transformers are cooled with oil, and the Tesla motors are cooled with oil and little radiators, and the battery is liquid cooled, with it's own radiator. That battery is also heavy. The weight of a Tesla model 3 is about the same weight as my full sized truck. A car of similar size to the Model 3 is about 1/2 to 2/3 the weight.
As F=mA, reducing the mass of a car means it will require less force to get it moving. That's less energy right there.
It's simply far more efficient to just burn the fuel in the vehicle to move it forward.
To “save the planet” should require more personal sacrifice than that, and as far as I’m concerned, unless you take those steps, you’re a fraud and ought to be ignored, because your obvious unwillingness to live in the Stone Age negates your supposed "concerns".
Turns out the Earth doesn't need to be saved (at least in that sense). It is quite big enough to take care of itself. Man is but a fly on an elephant's arse trying to tell the elephant where to go.
I didn’t make the rules.
You did.
The Church of Global Warming is quickly falling apart. There are far fewer believers than there were before. Most folks have woken up and left that religion. There are always the die-hards though.
Even the die-hard types are distracted by their other religions now, the Church of Hate being foremost on their favorite as of late.
