Katy Grimes: If everything really is bigger in Texas, then the departure of the Carl’s Jr. headquarters from California could be big, big, big news.

Today, Republican Assemblyman Dan Logue hosted another of his monthly Economic Recovery Group lunch meetings to hear firsthand from Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants, Inc., the parent company of Carl’s Jr., Green Burrito and Hardees restaurants, on the imminent decision to move the headquarters from California, to Texas.

But this is exactly how the system is supposed to work. When one state creates laws that folks don't like, they can vote with their feet.

The big problem is when the federal government usurps its authority and business votes with their swim fins and moves off shore.

I agree that business's can move wherever they want. The fact of the matter is that regardless if it is at the state or federal level liberal policies kill jobs. Too, state actions impact the entire country...i.e. fed bailouts to states. The biggest state bailouts mostly going to states with the biggest job killing idiotic policies.

You are correct of course. But we here in The South like it when liberal states tax the hell out of businesses. It makes our competing businesses more profitable and many of them move here.
