When does the focus on deportation change?

When does the focus on deporting non-citizens change to trying to extract slave labor from them?

It has already begun with the new edict of not messing with Hospitality and Farm workers.

Imagine being a farm worker, who knows that being fired would result in him going to the Everglades internment camp. Imagine what his employer can get away with.

I always suspected TACO would chicken out on deporting undocumented agricultural and hospitality workers.

So are you glad or sad? Which is it? Who gave you the idea for this thread Veruca? We know from others that you don't come up with them on your own

Well, according to democrats in congress we need them to pick our strawberries and wipe our asses. So... it seems that you've convinced Trump that we need them to pick strawberries and "do the jobs Americans won't do". I always find it interesting that Trump is bad when he does something, but then Trump is bad when he changes to what you wanted him to do...

I agree. I won't vote for Trump, ever... Even should he move to Colorado and run for Congress in my district... but I am almost invariably shaking my head at the inconsistency of Democrats in this...

I think that Trump could declare that "Oxygen is good for you" and tomorrow Democrats would hand out plastic bags to put over their heads.

For the stupid troll, above. Looks like the "teacher" didn't read The Grapes of Wrath during her "education."

Google query: abuse of farm workers by employers

AI Overview

Farmworkers in the US frequently experience abuse from employers, including wage theft, unsafe working conditions, and inadequate housing. These issues are exacerbated by a lack of robust enforcement of labor laws and limited organizing protections for farmworkers.

Specific types of abuse include:
  • Wage theft and minimum wage violations:
Many farmworkers are not paid the minimum wage or are not paid for all hours worked, especially those paid on a piecework basis.

  • Unsafe working conditions:
Farmworkers are often exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and dangerous machinery without proper safety equipment or training.

  • Substandard housing:
Housing provided by employers can be overcrowded, unsanitary, and lack basic amenities.

  • Transportation issues:
Employers may fail to provide or pay for transportation to and from work, or may use inadequate or unsafe vehicles.

  • Discriminatory practices:
Some farmworkers face discrimination based on race, national origin, or gender, leading to unfair treatment, lower wages, and less favorable working conditions.

  • Retaliation:
Workers who report abuses may face threats, intimidation, or termination.
Factors contributing to farmworker abuse:
  • Limited enforcement of labor laws:
The Wage and Hour Division of the US Department of Labor has limited resources to investigate and enforce labor laws in agriculture, resulting in a low chance of employer investigation.

  • Lack of worker protections:
Farmworkers are often excluded from certain federal labor protections that are afforded to other industries.

  • Power imbalance:
Employers hold significant power over farmworkers, who may be hesitant to speak out due to fear of losing their jobs or facing deportation.

  • High reliance on migrant and seasonal workers:
Many farmworkers are migrants or seasonal workers who may be more vulnerable to exploitation due to language barriers, lack of knowledge about their rights, and fear of deportation.
Efforts to address farmworker abuse:
  • Increased enforcement:
Organizations like the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division are working to increase enforcement of labor laws in agriculture.

  • Advocacy and education:
Worker advocacy groups and unions are educating farmworkers about their rights and helping them organize to demand better working conditions.

  • Community-based models:
Some researchers and community organizations are developing community-based models that support farmworkers in organizing and advocating for their rights.

  • Policy reform:
There is a growing call for policy reforms to strengthen labor protections for farmworkers and address the root causes of exploitation.

Trump is a raging hypocrite who made sure that HIS businesses (hospitality sector) won't see deportations. Can you explain to us why, as MAGATs correctly scream, if they're all here illegally, *some* are safe depending on their jobs, but others are not? Shouldn't the law be applied equally to all? Why aren't the (R)s creating an immigration reform bill? We had one but the #FatFascistFelon nixed it.

Not just the Democrats when TACO man reverses his own orders. Pedo Don reverses himself so many times that it can make a person seasick watching him flip-flop.

I shake my head at both Democrats and Republicans. The only good thing out of the Trump years is to see the Democrats recognize what they have wrought and moved back toward the center and a willingness to compromise. Something they weren't very good at doing over 20 years ago.

Instead of forming a new party, I'd love to see Elon pump a lot of money into the LP to bring more members, specifically traditional fiscally conservative Republicans and socially conservative Democrats, to run for local, state and House elections.

It's well past time for common sense to return to America.

Trump is the one not arresting farm workers or those in the service industry.

But if they lose their job, Stright to Alligator Alcatraz.

I support a path to citizenship, not terrorizing farm workers into being slaves.

In the past, workers from Mexico, Central and South America came to America during harvest season on temporary visas.

Then they went home.

It functioned beautifully.

The president’s policy is basically the same, foreign workers harvest the crops.

So, you want farm workers and service industry workers arrested.

You are whining that President Trump won’t arrest them.

Which is it, arrest or not?

No. The system Trump set up essentially makes them slaves. It gives their boss ultimate power, because if they get fired, they’re arrested and sent straight to alligator Alcatraz.

To thunderous applause by both House and JPP MAGAts.

What will Trump do with his concentration camps once all the illegals are deported? Shut them down or start filling them with gays, trans, blacks, browns, Muslims and anyone else he doesn't like?

The MAGAts will need some new badges for their prisoners.
