Whats normal...

I have heard conservatives claim that homosexuality is not "normal". In the sense that it is not the majority I can see where they are correct... but I think many are saying that because it is not normal it is bad or somehow flawed? IN a sense it is normal, because in any given population it is "normal" for a certian percent of people to be homosexual, does that make them abnormal or normal?

Klaatu or anyone else who has called homosexuals not "normal" are you saying that by not being "normal" there is something wrong with it?
 
It isn't normal to fly on planes, yet it isn't looked down upon. It isn't normal to abstain from sex, yet it isn't looked down upon... We can go on. "normal" is not an argument against something, it is a reality though.
 
Exactly, thus the question for those who say its not "normal", and then comparing it to genetic defects or retardation... are they trying to say its bad?
 
Neoconservatism is not normal and neither is the far right religious fringe.
so why would we believe their definition of normal ?
