I appreciate that they are both obviously evil to the core, but in the same way as adding 'compassionate' in front of conservative, does adding the exclamation mark after Satan not make him sound a little less evil?

I would judge evil by the number of people killed by a government. Over the last century Lefwing ideology like Communism, Socialism and National Socialism killed off hundreds of millions, Conservatives killed what maybe a few hundred?
That's less than what die in a year in your typical Liberal Democrat run inner city.

Libertarians have never killed anyone.

Forgetting about the Iraq War, are we?

Communism & Socialism haven't killed anyone. Totalitarianism has. Learn the difference.

I am forgetting all wars that did not instruct people to kill just for the sake of killing and looking at specifically actions from government that directly tried to put people to death or starve them.

OMG. Totalitarianism is an encompassing of autocratic philosophies that demand complete control, which communism and socialism fit under the umbrella of and Liberalism (with no point at which it stops growing government) slowly moves towards.

I mean holy shit, all this time you don't even understand the very basics of political terms?

Sorry; YOU do not understand political terms, and never have. You always call things "socialism" when they are not, and you clearly don't understand communism, which has never been practiced in the modern world on a national scale.

The Soviet Union was not "communism." I seriously doubt you know what the communist philosophy is.

The Soviet Union labelled themselves as a socialist republic but in terms of practical application of their philosophy, they adopted collectivization to achieve Communism. I'd also throw in that in doing so you had mass starvation either with the 2 biggest examples of China in the 60's or the USSR in the 30's.

In modern day terms, a socialist is someone who favors a high level of government control over the economy like Bernie Sanders for instance who is a self-described socialist. In strict terms a real socialist would be for complete state control but in modern day terms that is what people commonly think of Communism as.
The word Liberal used to mean something hella different 80 years ago as well for that matter.
Anyway the bottom line is that in terms of what is commonly accepted as being Communism, it is strict totalitarian control by the state and supposedly for the people, which the bulk of those tens of millions of murders happened under.
They are all leftwing ideologies restricting the economy, guns, business, ownership, property rights and ultimately in doing so the social freedoms that supposedly distinguished themselves as not being pure autocratic regimes.

You are out of your league, go back to bitching about the Iraq war or arguing for global warming even though you don't know any more science than you do political science.

"is commonly accepted as being Communism, it is strict totalitarian control by the state and supposedly for the people"

That is NOT communism. At all. It's not even close.

And you're saying I'm out of my league; goodness. You really don't understand at all what communism is, or what socialism is.
