Did they forget Roger Stone. He owed over $2 million in taxes and settled with the IRS with no jail time.

What I see is the DOJ was backed into a corner and has now tried to get out with minimum damage to the Biden administration. Bagman is up to his eyeballs in trouble in Arkansas in a child support case. He clearly committed a felony buying a firearm and lying on a federal form. He owed taxes he only paid when caught for not paying them.
The DOJ response was to minimize the charges while claiming to do 'something,' as the US public is becoming overwhelmingly convinced that the DOJ is playing favorites and weaponized. The charges against Bagman are equal parts letting him off while claiming to have provided "equal" justice.
On the firearm form alone, it's blatantly obvious that the DOJ played favorites. Nobody gets off with a diversion on that charge. The norm is a felony conviction and a year plus in prison along with a fine and another year of probation. Given that Bagman had a previous drug charge and equivalent to a civil criminal court conviction in being dismissed from military service for drug use, the norm would have been an enhancement on the sentence, likely 2 + years in prison.
The misdemeanors for tax evasion aren't completely out-of-line, but likely given to give the appearance of equal justice where there was none. The gun charge clearly would have gotten you or me a year + in prison.
Of course, Bagman still faces issues with the child support case in Arkansas, something daddy can't really influence. Then there's his money laundering and foreign lobbying agent crimes to consider. I'd say this was just the beginning of the awshits Bagman has coming his way.

Roger Stone was also a convicted felon for his activities in Russiagate - pardoned by trump. But magas consider that justice because - you know - trump.
The Justice system is gone, the Revolution has weaponized it against their enemies as they let the chosen ones skate.
