I LOVE EV's.
The absolute instant, peak torque they give you on launch is fantastic.
Sure, the sound has a lot to be desired - especially compared to a normally-aspirated, V8 engine.
But for racing, they are fab.
Going around a corner, you can keep the torque EXACTLY where you want it...easily.
That is rarely the case with internal combustion engines.
If they can get the cost of batteries down enough - they will clearly be the future.
The savings on parts/service alone would be gigantic.
However...the government - as with ALL things to do with the economy - should stay the FUCK out of it.
All they will do is wreck it/make it worse.
If EV's are the future?
Let consumers decide that for themselves.
Not a bunch of government bureaucrats listening to a bunch of ignorant, tree huggers.
Actually, we're in the position we're in because elected legislators, not government bureaucrats, are owned by oil and gas demons, not tree huggers. I agree that the federal government under any administration is virtually incapable of doing anything right, but it's too late for that.
