Actually, we're in the position we're in because elected legislators, not government bureaucrats, are owned by oil and gas demons, not tree huggers. I agree that the federal government under any administration is virtually incapable of doing anything right, but it's too late for that.

Dumbass. Do you know how simple it was for me to slash my carbon footprint? My entire impact at this point, after mindfully adjusting almost every part of my life, is basically due to the fact that I have to fly on airplanes. If people want to drive cars, then they should drive cars that are powered with renewable energy. If people live in cities and aren't lazy (so I've just eliminated most Americans), they don't even need cars. My food sources are sustainable and humane. My durable goods are recycled and recyclable.

Seriously, what would it take for you to look around you, realize that we are destroying the environment and the planet as fast as humanly possible, and actually do something about it? Have you ever even tried to do your part or do you just stick to bitching about leftists and abdicating all personal responsibility?
