Wow! 50 years! I was 7 when Woodstock happened. My oldest sister was one of those "dirty hippies", lol. I'm not saying that she went to Woodstock, but that she was a hippie. She still is, kind of. I wasn't a fan of the Beatles and not so much a fan of Elvis. As kids, we would play their records on the player and jump up and down making the records skip. What bad kids we were, lol.
The "kids" I went to h.s. with all said that the band that came to play at our school was "The Buckinghams." I guess we couldn't get a cool one like the Stones or Tull or the Dead. lol
I remember this song. By the time I graduated, it was all about DJs. lol.
ETA: Oops, messed up that quote, lol

No problem!
Husband has a set of HUGE (and extremely heavy) old speakers down in the media room. He's looking at those "Magnapan .7" speakers to replace them. Thinking it would be awesome to sit down there with the lights off or down real low, listening to some good sounds from way back then. So many of them are remastered though and don't sound very good.
Ha! I was sure that the band concert I recalled was Sugar Loaf, and another "girl" from h.s. just posted that that's what she recalled as well. And sure enough!
"On December 12, 1970, while still very much enjoying the successes of the smash single, "Green Eyed Lady", Sugarloaf performed at Parkway West High School in Missouri. It was not uncommon for successful rock bands to play in high schools during this era."
