it was an interesting time
going to college
dirt poor
working my ass off to survive
and trying to have some fun at the same time
I lived where live music was near
and was soooo exited to hear music other than disco
I will never forget the slamdancing that was done that night
Punk was in its infancy
Fear had people in the audience to direct the slam dancing
energetic young men whom Im sure most people didn't recognize were bouncers/dance coreographers
they would set the mood by being smiling happy guys who made sure no one got feeled up or hurt
they were dressed like punks (it was a new scene so lots of people just thought they were tuff guys by their dress) best fun dancing I ever had publicly
it really got taken way too seriously after that
the mocking of the retro fifties tuff guy got fucking twisted into real assholes thinking it was for them
