What Should Happen to Jared Loughner?

Loghner's punishment should be:

  • Death Penalty

  • Innocent by reason of insanity (sent to a mental institution)

The law should be changed to allow a verdict of GUILTY by reason of insanity, the sentence then should be a mental health facility until his physocis is controlled followed by a mitigated sentence and a life time of being monitored by the system...
 
In Arizona they have an option for "Guilty by Reason of Insanity", where he'll go to a shrink, but when he's fixed he goes to prison to serve his sentence. In this case, with multiple murder victims, it would likely be several consecutive life sentences.
 
What, no option to be sent to the Left Wing Liberal Reeducation Camp to be deprogrammed for having all those evil right wing thoughts that Sarah Palin, Rush, Hannity, etc., programmed into the poor guy.

Trolls don't care if it's public or not. I always avoid public polls, I think it deters from the integrity, and discourages candor. I want people to vote based on their true feelings, and not based on how they want to be perceived by others.

Dude, you're comparing our votes (the votes of Lords and Patricians) to the votes of proles like Dixie.
 
the older english had a method of execution for traitors that might satisfy the blood lust show in the posts of this thread

first they would hang the person three times (hanged until they were very short of breath but not dead)

second they would castrate the person

thirdly they would slice open the person's abdomen and draw out the intestines

fourth they would quarter the person by tying horses to each arm and leg and switching the horses thereby removing each arm and leg

fifth the person was beheaded and the head displayed on a spike on the castle wall

Staying with my perfectly consistent beliefs on the issue, I believe that people who selected death penalty should be executed.

We also put down stray dogs. So we should execute orphans. I like the way you think. I can imagine it now! All of the doey eyed little children being told that it's time for supper, and they go into the room, and then we fill it full of gas and laugh as the garbage people drop like flies. Conservatism is beautiful.
