What La La Land & the Superbowl reveal about the far left

It goes both ways. Trump supporters identify and condemn equally things that are seen as "anti-Trump," such as Nordstrom or the SAG Awards. That isn't necessarily an apples-to-apples, but in terms of maintaining & fostering division in the country, it's just as prominent.

And Trump himself is the ultimate divider. More than anyone I've ever seen, you're either with him or agin' him. And if you're agin' him, you're bad news. You're overrated, your ratings suck, you're a loser.

La La Land rocked. And as much as I hate the Pats, I have to say that the SB is one I will remember for years.

But that doesn't address what is happening with this movie is real in terms of #oscarstoowhite is still a movement even if Hollywood is 95% liberal. Identity politics are playing a role in the arguing over the awards right now.

I said it wasn't apples-to-apples. I'm focusing more on the "divisive" aspect of things. The left is getting blamed for that, but it's both sides.
 
My Facebook feed had the same comments about white supremacy winning the game etc. and this game was symbolic of what's happening in America. Very interesting.
 
The right plays identity politics as much as the left, they just pander to a single identity politic: straight white Christian males.

I think that's a little fringey. The more prominent sentiment that I heard (and that you had started a thread on) was that there were many who just didn't want the Patriots because Kraft, BB & Brady were either supportive of or friendly w/ Trump. I think it's only the most hysterical fringe of the left that takes it that extra step.

That you don't like Trump and what he's doing doesn't make him a divider. It makes you an idiot. He's moving along with what he was elected to do. If there is any division, it's on you NL. You divide yourself.

I agree with this mostly because grind included the qualifier "far." Yes, the far left is wacky, but the far right is in charge of the White House and so a much bigger threat to liberty (of course grind does not care about liberty).
