what is wrong with the reopening?

Lets talk about reopening the economy for a bit.

Take Texas for example. They say that retailers can open but only for pick up products. Similar to how food operates right now. They of course have been labeled as murderers who care about the economy more than human life. Now since your already taking that risk for food and it seems its not significantly increasing the infection what is wrong with their order?

Hope you get it and die

We can’t open up before we know Trump has been sufficiently damaged by this, comrade.

It sucks. My sister has been waiting for a catarac op for almost 2 months, she can't drive -
even to her medical destinations - so has to to be driven her everywhere...and this is ELECTIVE surgery?

?? How is that considered elective?? Hell a dog can get emergency service here, wtf??

I wish lol.

GT Ricochet. I’m a road rider that transitioned to mountain and I didn’t want to drop 5k on a bike till I was sure I was sure I was going to indulge the hobby. I’ll never go back to the road now. Too many texters on the road and I love trail riding.

I see many riders now, much more than before on the trails.. I would say they are mostly awesome folks to share the trail w/ & we always allow them to pass w/out slowing as much as possible but in more popular areas you get the "weekender" type assholes that ride on their off days & do other stupid shit.. (On more popular trails here hikers can go any day, horse & bike every other day)

Stay safe out there, watchout for hikers & don't put any dents in those trees.....lol

As the ongoing Chinese coronavirus pandemic turns out to be far less deadly than previously feared, certain segments of the population are itching to get America’s economy rolling again.

Except, although we were initially told to hunker down for a few weeks to “flatten the curve,” the goalposts were moved as soon as the original goal was met.

Now, a significant chunk of people seemingly want the lockdowns to last forever or until a vaccine is developed, whichever comes sooner.

Interestingly, the politics behind who wants to get back to work and who wants to keep their PJs on and continue their weeks-long slumber party ad infinitum are blatantly obvious.

Many on the right were concerned about coronavirus ever since hearing about the strange happenings in Wuhan.

They were clamoring for President Trump to close the border with China in January, a step he took to great protest and consternation from the left who, like Nancy Pelosi, Bill de Blasio and others, were busy telling everyone it was no biggie and Trump was overreacting.

But now that things are on the downward swing, it seems some conservatives and only conservatives are chomping at the bit to get things moving again in order to save the lives of countless people for whom a second Great Depression would mean the end of their livelihoods and even some of their lives long-term.

The left, on the other hand, is in no hurry, and who could blame them?

Of late, they’ve witnessed many of their most insane policy goals come either to fruition or within palpable reach, and they aren’t about to let some lame protesters trying to feed their families get in the way of "progress."

Indeed, if some sort of five-headed combination of Che Guevara, Vladimir Lenin, Saul Alinsky, Karl Marx, and Joseph Stalin managed to emerge from the pits of hell to wreak havoc for a few months, it’s hard to imagine how the world would be different from what has happened thus far in 2020.

The boon provided by the ongoing Wuhan-flu pandemic has provided a veritable leftist wish-list so exhaustive that one might be forgiven for expecting some indefatigable independent journalist to uncover evidence that Squad members traveled to Wuhan and brought the virus back themselves.

You must be a drone, Trumper.

We are all drones or unemployed here. loser. That includes you. Especially you.
What, are you a fucking decision maker? A pol slumming JPP all day every day?

You are certainly in a ditch of debt using all government aid you can while railing against it.
That is the malady of guilt expressing itself. We have paid government therapy to heal you, fucking loser.

Back in the day (pre helmet) I was riding from Mount Vernon VA to Alexandria proper and totally nailed a tree. ("explains a lot" jokes insert here)
My front tire was S shaped and I had to walk it 4 miles home. No covid risk then. Only the rich traveled overseas and those were few.
Hell, China wasn't even opened by Nixon yet.

Dontcha hate newbs?

Hey maybe this is Chrisopher Columbus's chickens coming home to roost, the infection and death thing...

Agreed, but that choice is up to each Governor.

The lesson most people are missing is how many Americans live paycheck to paycheck. There were a lot of really nice cars lined up for miles for food banks because people couldn't afford to buy food. Some of that is the pitfall of a consumerist society and "keeping up with the Joneses" but another part is that the wealth if this country isn't in the hands of a majority of its citizens.

:hand: & that will only be made worse by this pandemic..

What will the evil commies do, who will they sell their cheap wares to:thinking:

Here are a few ways leftists are living out their wildest dreams in the age of corona:

Police State Dreams Come True

We all know it. Leftists may seem to take on an anti-police persona when the police are out there enforcing actual laws and protecting the innocent against violent criminals, but what they really want deep down is what every good Marxist knows is necessary to keep a questioning populace in line - a Police State.

And when you’ve got would-be tin-pot dictators from New Jersey to California to Virginia to ‘Governor Karen’ ‘saving lives’ by stopping would-be home gardeners from planting seeds up in Michigan, there’s no shortage of THOSE to go around.

Pre-corona, who would have ever dreamed that from a civil liberties standpoint things could go downhill this fast and in so many ways?

People are literally getting arrested for going to church, taking walks on the beach, picketing abortion clinics, and even protesting the policies of their own government.

Sure, it seems sick to normal folks, but stuff like this is what leftists live for.

newbs.....lol Well if they come in pounding they lil chest, I can't help but take a likin to them...:)

I have certainly hit a few things & walked my bike many a mile (head hung down moping each mile), like the ground mostly just scraped up, nothing like mud & sand encrusted wounds to take home w/ you...lol I have actually seen trees, oak & tamarack trees w/ dents in them from bikes.. They are prob a lil softer than concrete....

If it was columbus chickens this isn't such a bad one.. Back in those days this was the norm.. Europe, Africa & Asia had just gone through several back to back plagues along w/ "the normal" shit like syphilis, chXn poX, typhoid fever, cholera, bad neighbors, invaders etc etc etc...... Ah, the good O' days....lol

Trillions Down The Hole

Leftists have always been big spenders ... of other people’s money.

Granted, the federal government’s yearly budget has been gargantuan for as long as most of us can remember, but prior to coronavirus even Swinish Schumer might have at least pretended to balk had someone suggested we spend an extra two trillion, give or take a few hundred billion.

Yet, here we are.

Sure, something had to be done in some way given the enforced government shutdowns, but that’s my point.

There’s no way the left doesn’t win long-term when money like that goes out the door that fast.

Yeah, the idiots ruin everything for everybody. Think about it lol.

Cyclists share the trails with hikers and trail runners. Trail running has become a thing. In my experience, hiking, running, cycling, draws a high percentage of non-idiots to the outdoors. I haven’t had a single bad experience with any of them. In fact, we tend to look out for one another.

The place where I ride has almost 60 miles of trials and people can and do get lost. And hurt. I came across a man who tripped and fell while trial running and when he fell he rammed a stick into his eye. He was laying there on the ground and his running buddy had called 9/11. Wasn’t much I could do so I peddled on. Then I got to thinking the access road the ambulance was most likely going to take was blocked so I stopped and called the 9/11 operator and explained the situation myself.

So again, I took off and just happened to be between trials and on the gravel road when I see the ambulance going down the wrong way. It was one of those big 4 wheel drive things. Almost looked like a small fire truck. Part of the problem is there is a series of gravel roads that interconnect and none of them are marked. So I flagged them down and they followed me out to the injured runner. I’m sure he was fine but I’m sure his eye was not.

I logged a few extra miles that day lol.
