Books, films, TV, video games, peer pressure, and even bad teachers
have no effect whatsover on children with good genes and competent parents.

I don't see it that way...as a professional retired educator... Bug government is technically always "interfering" in classrooms...A book list is the very Least of the problems... I always said that when it got pretty much impossible to teach anymore, I would retire...and I did...I doubt I would last 30 years today....

This. Educators are there to teach. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. So how is it a good idea to keep kids from learning about slavery? Or teaching about people who are different than kids are used to. Teach them to critically think. Teach them that the world is a diverse place. These book bannings make the world seem like a small and ignorant place. If you stop educators from doing that, then what is the point of an education. Why are Republicans so afraid that children will learn about new things? I don't get it.

Be curious, not judgmental. Thank you Ted Lasso, because those four words can change the world. Republicans want judgment, not curiosity. No thanks. I don't want a repeat of the Dark Ages.

Nobody ever forced parents to take children into topless strip clubs either, but if someone tried it they would most certainly get arrested.

I have no problem with a parent taking their mature 16 or 17 year old kid into a drag show if the parent thinks the young person is mature enough to handle it. The law should allow that.

But taking little kids into a club to watch a freak show where fat, hairy-fairy slobs dressed like street corner sluts parade around in lace panties shaking and grinding their asses is going too far.

The entire purpose of the "story thing", which you are obviously and disingenuously PRETENDING to not know anything about, is to get children exposed to this goofy shit.

Blanket pronouncements like that one ^^^ are never universally true.

There is no one size fits all doctrine on what kind of influences will or will not negatively affect kids.

Some kids can spend their entire childhood exposed to the worst shit imaginable and grow up to be stable adults.

Other kids can appear to be straight arrows, then get hooked in with the wrong thing... drugs, video games, violent music, the wrong crowd, etc, and go straight off the rails.

You don't know and neither do I.

I only know it pays to play it on the safe side.

Exposing little children to tranny freaks is not on the safe side.
