What is Biden running on as a platform?

Seriously? Biden (or anyone) decides to run for President but has no idea why they are running or what they stand for and just waits until the party convention and the party tells them? So the parties hold primaries to determine a nominee but not a single candidate has a platform they are running on? All candidates on the stage believe the exact same thing and are waiting until months down the road what they actually believe and support? Wow. So Obama waited until the convention to run on 'Hope and Change' in '08? Bill Clinton waited until the convention to run on the economy?

The danger is that while people know why they won’t vote for Trump, Biden has yet to give them a reason to vote for him.

He needs to get a simple message and run with it. Bill Clinton ran on bringing back the economy. Barack Obama ran on health care.

You still have to persuade people to vote for you. Just ask Hillary Clinton.

If I were Biden’s strategist, my message would be that the 2020 race is about more than just the presidency. It is about taking back the Senate and ultimately controlling the next appointments to the Supreme Court.

I’d kick off the campaign in Montana, then swing through states like Arizona, Georgia and Kentucky. I’d hit every state where there’s even a remote possibility of Democrats flipping a Republican-held Senate seat.

Biden in the bunker is working today. But every day that passes is another day closer to an economic turnaround and an end to the health crisis.

And you can bet that if either of those happens before November, Trump will be back on his game.

Seriously, that is not the question asked. Does Biden have lots of things he wants to run on? Sure he does. We know he is not bigoted like Trump. He will not suckup to Putin. He will be amenable to our long time allies that Trump pushed away. But the party platform is determined at the convention
Trump is providing coherence to the Dems. His crazy ego-driven 4 years has to be replaced with adult leadership. But the platform, the enumeration of goals the Dems are running on and their importance is done at the convention.

That was exactly the question asked. What does Biden stand for? What is he running on? The OP is not asking about the Democratic Party Platform that gets put out at the convention.

And to Willie Brown's point you can barely answer other than he isn't Trump. Maybe that will be enough this time but it wasn't enough for John Kerry in '04 in the ABB days nor was it enough for Hillary.

There is a small element of illiteracy in this country so the ability to read should not be taken lightly. Understanding what one is reading is something different however and in this case you aren't understanding what the OP is asking. They are using the term 'platform' as a reference to what Biden believes and is on running on 'i.e. the economy (Clinton), Hope and Change (Obama) and MAGA (Trump). And it's what Willie Brown wrote about.

this is easy too., that is not what he wrote. You are making your own interpretation. Biden will be running on a platform, just not now. Same for daffy. Biden has a long long history in politics. You can discern his beliefs from his past.

Biden is running on a continuation of the Obama Presidency

MAGA and Hope and Change are just slogans, in reality mean little, few if any candidates ever run on defined platforms, the last thing they want to be is cornered on a particular policy, exact reason Trump doesn’t, nor has ever, come out with a complete public policy on anything

Instead, they offer a generalized view of what they believe in, in Biden case, he portrays himself as a unifier, an escape from leadership he sees as purposely dividing Americans. Plus, as his history shows, he is a Democrat, believes that the Gov’t can be an agent of change

Brown is incorrect, at this time, Biden doesn’t have to do anything, he seldom ventures out yet his poll numbers are increasing, his best strategy for the moment is to let Trump be Trump, why give Fox and the radio material for them to demogogue
