You can ask that about what's conservative, liberal etc. Different meanings to different people. But like 3D said for a definition I'd go to white supremist Richard Spencer who is credited with coining the term and Steve Bannon who declared Breibart the paper of the alt-right

I always thought it was Trumps policy of economic nationalism- apparently there is some undercurrent I'm not aware of
its more of pragmatic nationalism. For instance if free trade makes sense at the time then go for it. If not then dont. Whereas conservatives will always push for muh free trade.

Look him up dude, he's the father of the alt-right. And has nothing to do with economic nationalism, it's about white supremecy and separating white people. At his rallies they give Nazi salutes and denounce Jews.

It's a term coined by Spencer and Bannon, apparently, although not in concert so they refer to two different groups. Then the Leftist media picked up on it, declared it racist because of Spencer (who I have never heard of until just now), and painted Bannon with it hoping to someday associate Trump with Spencer.

Economic nationalism and alt-right are two different things. You live in Florida, I think Spencer might be coming to speak at UF sometime soon if I read the headline correctly
Spencer is not even alt-right. I dont even think he has any economic nationalist views. He is just using the term

Spencer falls on the supremacist side of the equation. But there's an intersection with economic nationalism where people like myself might fall.
