It is not 100%, it is 99% sure. A crime caught on camera would probably be 99%, and beyond a reasonable doubt, but it would not be 100%. Video footage can be faked.
the founding fathers believed that it was better that 10 guilty men go free rather than to have one innocent incarcerated. so i'm thinking that i'm well within everything the founders considered.If you are demanding 100%, beyond any possible doubt, then we have to release everyone from prison. And more importantly, you are demanding well beyond anything that the Founding Fathers would have ever considered.

You definitely have a plan, you allow him to shoot himself. These are far greater risks than a thug breaking into your house, not caring about stealing things, only wanting to hurt people.

I also have my children wear safety belts, and child seats. There is a chance that could prevent them from being thrown to safety, but a far greater chance that will save their lives. I play the odds.

Are you not capable of discerning the difference between your daughter and a home invader? getting your son some professional help? training your kids on how to handle firearms?

Actually, no. It is more likely that the gun will end up being lost in an attack, and being used against the family. The problem here is you do not have a good understanding of risk.

I don't believe there is any way to reason intelligently with those who want to confiscate guns in America.
Our Constitution protects the right to own them yet the far left continues to try to take guns.
That is an irrational position but it is what it is.

I wish I could refute your two basic categories but alas, I can not.
There are a few true pacifists but very few, the rest fit into one of your categories or both.
I will add this, if a person is too cowardly to defend themselves and their families, they should not have families.
and as soon as you start applying that 'test' to every government agent and do 20 years of study to ensure that those tests work in a 100% success rate, maybe we will consider it for citizens.
