What happened to the Q insurrection?

The FBI and DHS bulletin was published hours later on Tuesday, prompting a new email from Blodgett to lawmakers Wednesday[/B] in which he said the Capitol Police had received "new and concerning information and intelligence indicating additional interest in the Capitol for the dates of March 4th – 6th by a militia group." In a separate statement, Capitol Police said it had obtained intelligence "that shows a possible plot to breach the Capitol by an unidentified militia group on Thursday, March 4."

So what?

I guess you don't hold Acting House Sergeant at Arms Timothy Blodgett in high regard.

Weren't you guys just criticizing Nancy for not doing enough on January 6?

Yup. Never should have been allowed to happen.

1/6 should have ended like all the other countless riots done by unarmed protesters over the previous 10 months: an adequate number of cops pound a few heads, make some arrests—and done.

But here we are.

He's one person, dumbass. From the link:

But on Tuesday, acting House Sergeant at Arms Timothy Blodgett suggested in a message to members of Congress that the significance of the March 4 date had "reportedly declined" in recent days, and the U.S. Capitol Police had "no indication that groups will travel to Washington D.C. to protest or commit acts of violence."

Still, he wrote, there would be additional personnel posted on the Capitol grounds in the coming days as well as the National Guard troops that have been posted in Washington to secure the area since the January 6 riots. A National Guard spokesman said there are roughly 5,200 soldiers and airmen assisting law enforcement with security in and around the U.S. Capitol. The Guard members are set to remain in Washington, D.C., until March 12.

A reduced threat? So instead of the likelihood of a truck bomb on the 4th it went down to a 1 in 10 chance? 1 in 100? What do you suggest Congress should have done with the update two days prior, Ass Lesion?

Why do you think the Trump administration didn't order enough security?

You know that they didn’t?

My understanding Capitol security is managed ‘in house’ and Pelosi is in the chain of command.

I was talking about Trump's rally. How the fuck was Pelosi supposed to know Trump was going to order his people to "take back the election"? Only Trump and his staff knew the plan.

You need better understanding, but it’s well known that trump dragged his feet getting better security to the scene.

There's that too, but it's two parts. Why wasn't security allowed in place for Trump's rally and why did Trump drag his feet ordering support for his own VP?

If the security had been around Trump's rally in the first place, then reinforcements wouldn't have been necessary. Of course, no one expected Trump to order the assault on Congress.....just like the Insurrectionists didn't know Trump would backstab them over the pardons.

It appears Congress, both sides of the aisle, agree too. Obviously the Republicans are a little more reluctant to point fingers at Trump since the militias are still running around loose and half of Republicans still favor Trump.

That said, clearly the Republican Senators are very disturbed by the events of January 6th plus Trump's actions and inactions.

Even they won’t show up unless it’s safe.

Yes, it looks like the militias are paper tigers: all mouth and bluster, but they fold when under pressure. Their "We were only following orders" defense isn't working either.

New photos and videos of an alleged Rochester member of the Proud Boys have been released by federal prosecutors who say it is further evidence of his role in the riots at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

In new documents filed by his attorney, Dominic Pezzola says he was motivated by a desire to protect his country. He also says he was responding to then-President Donald Trump's orders.

Now, a federal judge has shot down the argument likely to be used by many at their upcoming trials.

"This purported defense, if recognized, would undermine the rule of law because then just like a king or dictator, the president could dictate what's illegal and what isn't in this country," U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell wrote in a decision released last month. "That's not how we operate here."

What ‘plan’ lol?

The plan was to have Pence *delay* the vote in order for some states to go through their irregularities. Then hold the vote. I still haven’t figured out why Trump would ‘order people’ to storm the Capitol when it would wreck his ‘plan’ for the day.

And not a single person can answer it.
