What Exactly Is Fiorina Trying To Do?

The issue with Hillary is people don't like her. This is a personal story and 100% anecdotal so it doesn't mean anything but I'll share it anyway. I was at dinner with my mom the other night and politics came up. She voted for Obama in '08 and Romney in '12 and she's a registered independent (or decline to state). She says all these Republicans are so conservative I just can't support them. Then she mentioned she could maybe get behind Jeb because she felt he was at least somewhat moderate. Then she says she'd love to see a woman President but she doesn't trust Hillary nor does she like her. She mentioned this could be the first time she ever leaves the Presidential part of the ballot blank.

Again, that's one opinion out of millions and hers is no more important than anyone else's. But I share it because she's an educated woman who is Hillary's age and I know she's not alone in her thinking.

Carly's eventually going to fade out here in this race but I don't think her attacks on Hillary are making Hillary more sympathetic. We all know examples of attacks that go over the top and make the person being attacked more sympathetic, likeable etc. I don't see that here with Carly and Hillary. (just my opinion of course)

I simply do not understand the attacks on Hillary. Seriously, I don't. She's just another politician, no better, no worse.

Maybe it's because I remember all the attacks on her during Bill's impeachment. They dragged her through the mud, raked her over the coals, turned her inside out and found next to nothing. Hostile republicans couldn't nail her with anything criminal, and it galls me that rabid righties (not you) will still insist it's there and they didn't go deep enough.

Pro-family repubs criticize her for sticking with her marriage despite Bill's infidelity. Pro-family repubs criticize her daughter who is by all accounts a very smart, accomplished young woman. Hillary as First lady was criticized for having a career instead of staying in the background with her lips zipped.

When I ask for specifics I get vagueness. "I don't trust her." "She's a liar." "She doesn't seem accessible to people." And these are the people who put a narcissistic bloviator like Trump on a pedestal.

I just do not get it.

You don't have cable? None of the primary debates (Dem or Rep) have been on ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox or PBS.

But yes at the debates she has spoke plenty on economic issues. Hell the last one she kept speaking about zero based budgeting which I believe was a Carter idea.

No I don't. I was able to watch on repub debate and one Dem debate that were streamed and you didn't have to pay or sign up to do so. My bff just texted that the Dem debate will be on CBS tonight.

PR, Bush got 40% of the Hispanic vote when he won the Presidency. Romney got 27% when he lost. Did Bush pander to get that 40%? What do you feel he did differently?

The best I can say is it's her personality. It's not to say she's a bad person but her personality doesn't help her. For instance look at Bill and the way he can charm people and win people over to him. She doesn't have that. Again that doesn't make her a bad person but personality's play a huge role when running for President. Look at Romney. Even if you don't like his politics I'm sure most people would not say he's a bad person. But he has the personality of a board. It did not help him.

And to get to the level these guys are playing at (running for President) everyone has skeletons in their closets. No one is clean. But with the Clintons there seem to be so many which is why people get the 'I can't trust them' feeling. Yes, I'm a partisan but I can take a step back and look at the big picture. The polls show even Democratic white women have trust issues with Hillary.

What was that figure at the end of Bush's presidency? How did Karl Rove and Bush's amnesty scheme work out for the GOP? The Hispanic figure dropped dramatically , didn't it?

If you're going to try to out liberal and out entitle the democrats, you moderate republicans are always going to lose. I know you want a brown country by any means but your desire to turn the republican party into an entitlement half way house for the third world and entitlement seeking former democrats is a loser as much as your moderate GOP inner circle is.

Well people are weird. Look at Trump's personality, he's a bloviating narcissist. Yet some prospective voters think he's God's gift. Look at the soft-spoken Carson gaining in the polls despite his weird beliefs and the skeletons in his closet.

I recall people here telling me I voted for Bill because he was charming, not because I agreed with his platform. So the Clintons get bashed no matter their charm or lack of it.

I still don't know what, specifically, are the trust issues with Hillary.

Trump and Carson aren't going to win though.

How many illegals were in the country when Bush first ran compared to when Romney ran? Today, there are close to thirty million illegals in the country if you include all their family members. So you want amnesty as you moderates continue to destroy your party's chances to recapture the white house with liberal schemes to steal Democratic voting blocs because you want a brown country because a wall, deportation, and the constitutional knowledge that america is a country of laws and political borders are all racist.

Cwacko, you're tooting a Marxist horn of social justice and egalitarianism.

I agree with the OP. Fiorina's campaign is going in the same direction as Bush's; spiraling downward in flames.

Meanwhile, shifting my support to Marco Rubio. I like a Rubio/Cruz ticket. Or even a Cruz/Rubio ticket.

What makes you think anyone gives a solitary fuck who you plan to vote for this week?
