I agree, just as soon as the government promises not to spend one fucking dime on drug rehabs, AIDS hospices, crack babies, and all the other ills that are caused by drug abuse of responsible adults.

Where are all the so-called board libertarians who are full of faux outrage over medicinal marijuana?
You just stated that "Its not the governments business what adults do with their own bodies.", but yet you want them to be involved when adults go overboard if they abuse their body with drugs. The tax on drugs would have to be huge to pay for all the fallout from legalizing all the drugs listed above.
We need to save that money for the banks who make bad lending choices, the military that can't find a good hammer and the elderly who did not prepare for their retirement?
The ills you mention are exacerbated by the drug war. If people like you who claim to want to help the addicts and those they harm actually focused on that instead of punishing them their would be no need for the government to do anything. You waste your energy, your money, our energy and our money on punishment and seeking revenge instead.
A tax on drugs was the inroad to illegalization. You don't want to create another special interest. We'd be better off handling it through voluntary donations.

Most ppl wouldn't use, the one's that do and need rehab could easily be funded by the enormous money we waste on enforcement, and the courts/prisions.
Just my thought, as the more we war against drugs, the more it drives narco states. so cut it out, and treat them as a medical problem (addiction/abuse),

all current illegal recreational drugs should be legalized
along with laws to punish people that commit illegal acts while under the influence
concurrently, there will need to be more drug rehabilitation and mental health facilities

First legalize recreational drugs and then take away the penalties for illegal acts commited while under the influence.
So someone taking meth, breaks into a home, rapes the teenage daughter, tortures the other kids, and then kills the parents; should get off.

I think DQ meant to make laws that are stronger for illegal acts committed under the influence. Decriminalize the drugs, heavy laws for crimes committed under the influence, all while stressing mental health and drug counseling.
The reality is the only real regulation on those drugs now is what is put on them by the drug cartels, this makes it easy to get children addicted. The war on drugs is fought stupidly.

Yep, you left out coca. I dn't advocate the use of any, but I do believe opium poppies, mj and mushrooms should be legal. Coca not so much, but that is a personal preference.
