Not saying it never happens, but I've never seen an American flag inside the worship space of a church. And I have made the rounds; I've been to Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Evangelical, Lutheran, Unitarian, Quaker, Catholic, and Orthodox services.

I have. Both American and Christian flags.

This painting is supposed to be 1950s vintage.

That's when fundamentalists were fringe. The painting is supposed to represent a very respectable WASPy family who are undoubtedly depicted in a mainstream High Protestant setting.

None of the mainline High Protestants I know of mix political symbolism with the worship space.

I am getting so sick and tired of these nostalgic white folk and they love for yesterfuckinday, always trying to show up white people as these God fearing church loving mf's. People can't even go to fuckin church without white hating motherfuckers showing up and acting fools...so miss me on this mom, dad and white kids photo shit. There is NOT ONE SINGLE VENTURE OR VENUE THAT BLACK PEOPLE CAN STAKE CLAIMS TO THAT WHITE PEOPLE HAVEN'T TAKEN, STOLEN OR BOUGHT, NOT ONE. Every gotdamn where we go, they show the fuck up. FACT
