What does Obama want for a legacy?

Rationalist

Hail Voltaire
Given the previous four years, I don't think we have any reason to believe the next four years would be any different. Obama will continue to repeat the same, tired ol' horseshit rhetoric and, best case scenario, the economy will continue to grow by a measly 1.5% annually (and dropping).

At that rate, it would be 2020 before we're finally back where we started. Now this is the President that said if he doesn't have it fixed in three years, he'll be facing a one-term Presidency. So why the hell is this guy even bothering to run for reelection? Even if he wins, what exactly does he hope to accomplish? He will not be remembered fondly. On the contrary, I believe he will be remembered as the worst President in recent memory.

Now, it is entirely possible that Obama will win AND the economy will miraculously turn around. But given what we currently know, I don't view that as a plausible outcome... and I suspect Obama doesn't, either.

The biggest danger we face in the next 4 years, if Obama wins, is the dollar being replaced as the preferred international reserve currency. Shallow-minded "Hope and Change" idiots don't even know what this means or what it is, but in the words of Biden, it's a big fucking deal. To borrow a sports term, it means we no longer control our own destiny. This is how trade is conducted and debt is repaid globally. Once the dollar is no longer the preferred international reserve currency, and is replaced by the yuan or whatever, the 'value' of the dollar is weighed against that, meaning our international debt skyrockets in terms of actual US dollars. It also means the prices of goods and services from other countries, increase dramatically, as our dollar buys less and less. If you think things are bad now, wait until this happens and see how you like it...my bet is, you won't. We've already endured two credit downgrades under Obama, a FIRST in US history, but that is a cakewalk compared to this. We currently find ourselves in a $16 trillion debt hole, but imagine that number doubling or tripling overnight. Does common sense tell you this will be "good" for America? We currently have a feasible plan to eliminate our national debt and turn things around, once this happens, we won't have that option anymore.

There will be many things he will be remembered for, both good and bad. The failure to close GITMO and the increase in drone activity, the bounty hunter mentality, the assault on medical marijuana are the bad. The good are allowing gays to serve in the military and The Affordable Care Act, and the death of bin Laden.

This is not a concern. In order for the dollar to be replaced, you have to have an alternative. There is no alternative at this point.

There are actually two alternatives, and both are currently being discussed as possible replacements. The Chinese Yuan and Russian Ruble... one of them WILL replace the dollar if we continue on the course we are currently traveling, and if the pace remains the same, it will be in the next 4 years. You're welcome to have a different opinion, or bury your stupid head in the sand, but those are the facts of reality.
