What North Korea wants most is security. Its regime wants to survive. It wants assurances it won't be attacked, or suffocated by economic sanctions. It wants a peace treaty formally replacing the armistice that ended the shooting war phase of the 1950-1953 Korean War

All they really want is to get some of the Western powers to acknowledge them, to respond to their threats. The leaders of North Korea are struggling for legitimacy and in their culture a response to their threat enhances their position.

It is probably another shakedown. This family has successfully shook down the previous 4 presidents. They got daddy bush to toremove a hundred nukes from South Korea. They got SLick Willy to give them 4 Billion. They got Shrub to remove them from the terror list and remove sanctions. They got Barry to give them food aide.

Correct. They threatened to attack Guam 1 year ago, and the adults in the world simply allowed Kim to beat his chest.
