What do you do with the uninsured who are dying of a cureable disease?

None of who's business? Does he get treated at the hospital or not? Does the government pay to save his life or not? Does he live or die?

This is not an MTV Reality Show! It's none of our business... as a collective nation... as a central government... as a whole. Back in the olden days, the man is helped by his family and loved ones, or if there are no family and loved ones, the church or charity organization.

What if, in your scenario, the government, in the process of 'saving his life' accidentally kills him... can his family sue? Who pays for that? The government doesn't make money or earn profits... their money comes from us, the taxpayer... so I guess WE would pay, huh?

I'm a taxpayer, and yes, I want my tax monies to be used to aid those whose lives are endangered by a lack of access to health care.

You don't, but the good news is that it isn't up to you.

Let's see here....what do we do with the uninsured who are dying of an curable disease? Hmmm.. Hold on...Uh......ah...almost there...........make sure they are comfortable.

So the question has been asked and I am sure many of the hard core conservatives are dying for a chance to clarify.

Lets say a middle class man, with a wife and kids and a reasonable income chooses to not get health insurance for himself. Lets just say he buys a boat instead. This man gets a type of cancer that is usually cureable, but that cure is very expensive, it will take a three year corse of treatment that will cost about 1.6 million in total.

What do we do with this man? Does he get the treatment? Do we let him die?

i say you take the liberal point of view and pop an ice cold bottle of beer and celebrate the mans right to choose.

Didn't Jesus mention this kind of compassion in the Parable of the Good Samaritan?

The Good Samaritan paid the bill at the Inn where he brought the man after he bandaged him up. He also told the innkeeper that he would reimburse the innkeeper for any other expenses when he came through again. The Good Samaritan paid the bill......NOT the taxpayers. Idiot.

How about your wifes' freedom to choose? How do you feel about that?

without getting too deep in to my personal life or my wifes, she had an opportunity to guarantee she'd always be insured. She chose not to. It sucks for the both of us now and we're trying to remedy that, but in the meantime we'll deal with our freedom of choice just fine. thanks.

Really? I have no say in how my own money is spent? Have you now turned FASCIST on us?

Let's get something straight, nimrod... we have an election process and a ballot box, and you better bet your sweet ass, we most certainly DO retain the right to determine our own destiny, including what we will and will not pay for! Until you decide to launch a Jihad Coup and take over the country, suspending the Constitution, you can kiss my fucking ass!

Too bad you lost the election and health care reform passed.

It's the law, so no, you had your chance to tell the government how to spend your tax dollars, and you failed.

Now, tell us how when you fail at the ballot box you'll go to the bullet box.

Sucks to be you. If she can get the care she needs through health care reform, will she choose to die rather than use it?

Do you think the govt is going to pay over a million dollars to keep someone alive with this new health care bill?

Since there a lot of uninsured Americans around, you Good Samaritans need to get busy.

Otherwise we taxpayers will have to step in.

So you admit you have no fucking idea what it provides for? Good.

January 2013... Mark it on your calendar. This is when Obamacare will be repealed, if the Supreme Court doesn't completely render it pointless before then. The GOP President will issue an executive order granting a waiver to all 50 states, and it will go into effect immediately. Obamacare will be dead, and the past 4 years of your life will have been a total and complete waste. So... be cocky! Strut around and talk down to conservatives ....and call them a few more names! Might as well make the most of this party while it lasts, because Nov. 2012, it all comes to an abrupt end for you. Enjoy!

LOL. You think Perry will win?

Speaking of name-calling, you forgot to call me a pinhead.

You need to go back to bible study and make sure the examples you use from the bible line up with your agenda. You looked pretty stupid by using the Good Samaritan.

No one is stopping you from "stepping in". If you want to help people then go for it.

I guess 'stepping in' wasn't working too well for the uninsured poor, so the voters told the government to take care of it.

Maybe you heard about it.

the incredibly sad thing about the whole healthcare reform is that it will do absolutely nothing to decrease medical costs. In fact, by ensuring that health insurance companies are going to be guaranteed income, prices will only rise.
