It's a valid question, one that routinely crosses my mind when I am message boarding.
What I have noticed about rightwingers, is that they almost never gave an enthusiastic, passionate, and well articulated response as to why they support the policies and ideologies of George Dumyba Bush, John McCain, Mittens Romney, Sarah Palin, or Donald J. Drumpf. Even though they spend large parts of their lives on message boards defending, and running cover for these GOP presidential candidates, I never got the sense they could actually articulate why they supported them.
What I have noticed, is that rightwingers define themselves by being against Democrats. They don't seem to actually be able to enthusiastically support the leaders of their own Party, they do not seem to actually have any core principles other than to be against Liberals. I think it is remarkable to be so interested in politics, and spend so much time on political internet forums when your whole political philosophy can be summed up as "I am against Democrats!"
I find it to be a nihilistic and cynical outlook on politics.....and one hopes this cynicism and negativity is not a cyber-extension, a reflection of their own real life personalities!
