What about his 2nd Amendment Rights?

he was already a convicted felon, so what good did any question about whether he should own another rifle do, or does? it's totally irrelevant. what SHOULD have happened is he should have never been released in to the public again.

You should've Posted the pic of that white thug. As far as his rights, I'm sure the NRA considers him a responsible gun owner and will represent him.

Ahh...so he bought the rifle at a gun show?

the article doesn't say, so you are only guessing at this point. If that would be the case, it only emphasizes my position that he shouldn't have been let out of prison the first time. anything else is an infringement on the rest of the public.

A sheriff's official in Henry County, Ga., south of Atlanta, said Hill was charged there in March with making terroristic threats — a felony in Georgia. The details of that case couldn't immediately be determined, but court records show that he was sentenced to three years' probation and anger counseling.

perhaps he needed more aggressive treatment...

or, punishment. 3 years of probation for terrorism? How about 30 years to life?

So every crime with a gun should be thirty to life? I'm all for it, especially if it includes responsible gun owner parents of children who kill their siblings or someone else because a gun was lying around. Oh, and let's include gun show sellers and gun shop owners who sell guns involved in a crime. While we're at it, let's lock up the people who allow their guns to be stolen!

when you start applying those standards to EVERY police officer as well, maybe we can talk.

Convicted felons can't buy weapons at gun shows either, more left wing BS.

I assume they can if they don't use a dealer, but buy from a private individual; in California those still require background check, but I thought other states didn't require that.

Some do, some don't. So you are correct. If memory serves, 11 states require background checks on all guns purchased. another 8 or so do for handguns only. Then you have states like NJ that don't really allow gun shows (other than an antique one)

Seriously, naive folks in general: Criminals steal or buy stolen guns.

Not legally. Hence the fact that gun laws are useless since criminals do not obey them.

Yeah, laws against murder are useless since criminals don't obey them either.

No offense, Rune, but that's one of the weaker arguments against gun control laws.
