Another trump embarrassment we have to smooth over. :palm:

The US has made a "formal apology" to Britain over accusations a UK spy agency worked with former President Barack Obama to wiretap Trump Tower, according to The Telegraph.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer claimed in a briefing on Thursday that Obama partnered with the UK's Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) for an operation spying on Trump Tower during the presidential campaign. The Telegraph reports that both Spicer and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster apologized to Britain.

"The apology came direct from them," an intelligence source told the British newspaper.

McMaster reportedly apologized directly to Prime Minister Theresa May's security chief Sir Mark Lyall Grant, according to The Sun."General McMaster also reassured No10 that the White House would never repeat the embarrassment, which threatened to put crucial Trans-Atlantic intelligence cooperation at risk," The Sun reports.

GOP Congressman: Trump Owes Obama An Apology for "Reckless" Wiretap Claim

Multiple Republican congressmen have now said that there is no evidence to support President Donald Trump’s claim that former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower — and now one of them is calling on Trump to apologize.

While talking with reporters on Friday, Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK) reiterated that he’s seen “no indication” that Obama ordered any sort of wiretap, and he chided the president for being so careless in making serious accusations without any proof to back them up.

“It’s not a charge I would*have ever made,” said Cole. “Frankly, unless you can produce*some pretty compelling proof,*then I*think the president, you*know, President Obama is owed an*apology in that regard.*If*he didn’t do it, we shouldn’t*be reckless in accusations that*he did.”

If this does out to be false, which is seems highly likely, he not only owes Obama and apology, but the American people.

Didn't he fire Flynn for lying?

Spicer DID NOT make any such claim on Thursday...Spicer did read a comment made by a Fox commentator....as a matter of fact, Spicer read quite a few
reports and comments made by various people at the same time.....

Appears this story is true and the the dumbass WH, led by Trump relied on a freaking fox news commentary and not actual intelligence.

If they had any credibility, it is nearly gone now. As it also appears Trump relied on Breitbart and not actual intelligence for his tweets.

What an embarrassment.

The British intelligence organization took the unusual step of responding by saying: "Recent allegations made by media commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano about GCHQ being asked to conduct 'wiretapping' against the then president-elect are nonsense.

When you read a comment from the White House Press Room, you are giving it credence. They should never give that hack they were quoting credence and should apologize for having done so.

Clearly nonsense, almost everything Nappy says is nonsense.

I agree with the first part, don't know the guy to say on the second part.

When will asshole Trumph apologize to President Obama?

I'm not holding my breath ...
I don't believe that douche-nozzle ever apologized to anyone in his entire fucking life...

Because now it is fully known that Obama did it.............LOL

Maybe.....if thats so then, when he mentioned the New York Times headline, “Wiretapped Data Used in Inquiry of Trump Aides.” So, in fact, the word “wiretapped” appears.

Instead, the Times story speaks to a broader and more diffuse FBI investigation of possible links between unnamed Russian officials and Trump associates. The article identified the associates under investigation as former campaign manager Paul Manafort and advisers Carter Page and Roger Stone.

The closest the story comes to President Obama is this vague assertion: “One official said intelligence reports based on some of the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House.”

Are we supposed to give 'credence' to the New York Times article too ? Or is it just 'FAKE NEWS'

“Wiretapped Data Used in Inquiry of Trump Aides.”

Paul Manafort and advisers Carter Page and Roger Stone.
the wiretapped communications had been provided to the White House.”...... White House certainly mean Obama, don't it ?

How much 'credence' do you give the NYT's article....my guess is none.
