how can that be when he hasn't even had a trial yet?
i predict that is what he will be accused of and found guilty of...the fuzz has too much evidence, both oral and written...and they have spent too much money on him to let it go
how can that be when he hasn't even had a trial yet?
so if I threaten to kick your car tires, that should result in arrest?
Judges are the guys issuing the warrants. What is this, no matter what happens the police were wrong?I'd rather not get started on the numerous violations judges make with warrants and get total immunity for doing it.

Security is a flipped coin from freedom, STY wants unlimited freedom and assumes therefore that anything security related is evil and bad.in his eyes yes, cops, prosecutors and judges and the entire criminal justice system is one big malfunction
and to a certain extent he is correct, just nowhere near as often as he likes to think
we have as good a criminal justice system as we are willing to pay for and as a result it sucks from time to time and does not protect the public as well as we would like to think, sigh
oh well

From my view the issues of the criminal justice system are that it deals with crime, which is unpredictable and changing, and that it is a system, a bureaucracy. As for protecting people, unless you want to go Minority Report here, it's never going to be 100% Because you can't have two cops to protect every person all the time.
Here's a depressing story to do with property crime, a couple years back, I think it was in KC, the police tried taking evidence, DNA, fingerprints and such in burglary investigations, they closed almost three times the number of cases(meaning ending in an arrest). Sadly, not enough resources, nobody wants to pay the extra taxes or give up more. There aren't enough cops to solve every crime, be everywhere, or do everything, they aren't paid enough and most of the time they get crap for things they couldn't prevent. Burglary isn't a high profile crime, it's hard to solve with the resources available(IE without spending more).many years ago, my ex-wife's and my house was broken into
while the police showed up after a neighbor called reporting the break in, they could only try to secure the house and did not even investigate the break in because they did not have enough resources to investigate burglaries (did i mention that we lived in a low income area - it was our first house and all we could afford at the time - after the 3rd break in a week and a half we installed bars on the doors and windows)
while i realize that their cannot be enough police to secure everyone's safety and property but i think that we can afford enough police to investigate property crimes/burglaries
the plain text of whatever law we wish to discuss is irrelevant anymore. when laws are written such that a concealed handgun law includes the words 'in whole, or in part' so that a judge can use that definition to state 'a handgun hanging from someones neck tied by a shoestring is still concealed, because the string conceals that small part', then we might as well scrap the entire penal code. All that happens after that is laws are subjectively applied to prosecute those by choice and not by law.bodily harm. hence "someone" not something. there might laws threatening property, but i highly doubt they are anything like threatening bodily harm...look up criminal assault.
people demand security over freedom because they are too cowardly to handle their own security. that's plain fact.Security is a flipped coin from freedom, STY wants unlimited freedom and assumes therefore that anything security related is evil and bad.
the criminal justice system is exactly that. It deals with justice. it doesn't deal with security or protection. people need to wake up to that reality. From my view the issues of the criminal justice system are that it deals with crime, which is unpredictable and changing, and that it is a system, a bureaucracy. Oh, you got so close to making a post that I could agree with and then you tossed in that "man up and handle your own security crap" That's why we have a criminal justice system, to get out of the retaliation and infighting, the police gang units in your city could tell you stories about when people "sort out their own security" which normally means finding somebody who did it and shooting them, then their friends shoot back, and what we has is a gang war. Lots of people dying because they can't separate the individual from the crime.people demand security over freedom because they are too cowardly to handle their own security. that's plain fact.

Another reject of a civilized society, go back and play in the mountains. Or better yet ship yourself over to Afghanistan, if we're gonna get americans killed it might as well be the righht ones.
You should have shown some gonads and invested in a gun......and used it.....not only would your home be safer but your entire neighborhood would too.....
is it? I've been threatened a few times, cops didn't give a damn. why for this kid? i would think that if it's a real crime, they'd prosecute all threats.
It's to bad that jumping to conclusions doesn't qualify as exercise. If it did, you'd be in good shape.
Poor Blabo.
to partially borrow your phrase...Oh, you got so close to making a post that I could agree with and then you tossed in that "man up and handle your own security crap" That's why we have a criminal justice system, to get out of the retaliation and infighting, the police gang units in your city could tell you stories about when people "sort out their own security" which normally means finding somebody who did it and shooting them, then their friends shoot back, and what we has is a gang war. seeing as how they had surveillance on him but found no weapons on him, in his room, nor at his parents house when they arrested him, it looks to me like they violated his rights. maybe they'll come up with some power point presentation he made on what he planned to do, but I see no crime other than a college kid being a dumbass. if that becomes illegal, we're gonna need a whole lot more prisons.
I'm starting to get the impression that you'd like to see our society become the meek and submissive, giving the aggressor whatever they want and then calling nanny government to pick us up of our knees. tell me i'm wrong.Another reject of a civilized society, go back and play in the mountains. Or better yet ship yourself over to Afghanistan, if we're gonna get americans killed it might as well be the righht ones.
try a bigger picture, lame brain. I know you like to lay your tongue out on the floor for your fellow badges, especially to try to refute me, but I'm very clear in my communications. so when I say 'prosecute', I am referring to prosecutors. Let me know if I need to dumb things down a bit more for you.I know that your angst blinds you; but the Police don't prosecute crimes.![]()
try again, dipshit. if he'd shot up the school, i'd be complaining and bitching that CAMPUS CARRY IS PROHIBITED!!!!!!!!!And yet, another WIN-WIN situation for you.
You get to complain about this and if the Police hadn't arrested him and he had shot up someplace, you could have then complained that the Police weren't doing their job.
