So ..... with the whole election happening i just wanted to point out that were preparing for another war.

NATO secretaries have recently met and we are beefing up troops all alone the russian border. Its been called the biggest increase in troops in europe since i dont know when. british planes, german troops, US army, all have people going to estonia and other countries. I predict this will force russia to hug china tighter.

If this were 30 years ago we would be at defcon 2.

Plus nobody is even talking at lower levels. Kerry used to at least meet with Lavrov on a regular basis -i haven't heard of that in a long time.
Maybe some noises over Syria.

Then Clinton is already throwing around crap like "levering" Putin over Assad -and excoriating Trump for even wanting to meet with Putin.

She's an Old Cold Warrior, when she isn't starting new wars.

well the Baltics really aren't NATO expansion like Georgia's "partnership for peace" given the history of Poland. I mean the Ukraine needs protection from federalization ( US defensive weapons )-
but we really don't need to be tramping around Independence Square either.

( remember Nuland and her cupcakes??)

because the three Baltic republics (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) had already declared their independence from the USSR by the time the Soviets had fallen? I seen to recall something seminal about them..sorry I can't be more precise - but they need shielding from Russian agression.

it's PayGo - but it's scaled to NATO nations GDP ability to pay...
I'm not fond of the idea- not as " transactional" foreign policy - but it's probably doable with so many trying to get into NATO

You do realize there is no treaty agreement to that effect and that Russia does not have the right to interfere with the self determination of sovereign nations right?
